The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry!
February 9th, 2006

One To Click On by Jon

Welcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News!

It's been an interesting yet good week for the manual traffic exchanges, even though its been a dark day for certain parts of this industry, I will explain why I think this was a good week.

The first thing that happened, there was a very cool new tool released exclusively for splash page design. An innovative new tool that I think, can really help anyone's splash page presentation. You can check out more about that in the News section of H.E.N.

The next reason this has been a great week, a few new traffic exchanges have been launched recently that secure my belief that if the owner has the right mind set, new exchanges can thrive and do very well! There has been a huge lack of solid releases lately, but this week showed me at least three that stuck out from the crowd.

And finally, the reason this was a great week...With all the bad publicity that internet business has had over the past 7 days or so with the auto investing programs and Storm Pay, the words 'traffic' and 'exchange' were never mentioned!

Long live the manual traffic exchanges and thank heavens for people that actually want to VIEW your web sites!

Thanks for reading this week's issue of Hit Exchange News!

The News

  • The past few months have seen the changes in surf bars, the removal of downline credits so it stands to reason, the next thing to go was the surf ratio? Traffic At The Races is a brand new traffic exchange with a VERY unique twist. There is no surf ratio. Basically you surf 10 web sites to get to a horse race, whatever the outcome of the race, is how many hits you will receive. It's a fun little program and should do quite well. It's good to see new twists like this from time to time!
  • Want even more proof that the traffic exchanges are starting to explode on the internet as viable advertising options? Look no further than this brand new state of the art tool called Splash Page Brander. The one thing that is so critical to creating effective splash pages, is to grab the viewer's attention right away. This little tool does that and much more. Wow, it's a good time to be involved with traffic exchanges! Note: It was just reported to me that a client using this program received 17 opt-in subscribers today by using this tool.
  • Congratulations to Funny Farm Traffic for celebrating over 2 years online! This is a great achievement because many new exchanges never last past their first year. It shows great management and a program people are really enjoying.
  • There has been a new revision to Hit Exchange Secrets. This popular traffic exchange e-book was re-designed and had some great new features added included a 'spectacular' new article by yours truly *end of shameless self-promotion*!
  • This Week's Splash Page Hall of Fame Entry is this splash from Juvio. I guess we can call this the 'corporate splash page' as it's a very professional design and uses great color combinations. It's fun and very well designed, a solid splash page!

The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

Enjoy this week's list!

  1. TS 25
  2. Traffic Swarm
  3. Hit Safari
  4. Traffic Roundup
  5. StartXChange

Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, Click Crazey and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. If you want to see how well they are performing each week, please check TestHoopla top 20 weekly ranking!

Deep Thoughts - Feature Articles

Deep Thoughts by Jon Olson

This has been reprinted from my I Love Hits update this week. I feel it is extremely important to go over a few things in light of the recent events with certain payment processors / auto investment sites. I hope you find it useful!

What a week! I wanted to share with readers a few things that I have noticed over the past 7 days in light of the situation arising from the Storm Pay vs. Auto Investment Surf programs.

Are auto investment surfs legal? I have no idea. I am not a lawyer and I am not a judge. I myself, have never worked with them because I simply do not think it's something I wish to be a part of. However, I highly suggest to anyone that has ever considered to take part in these programs, please, do your research first. There are a lot of people this week, who stand to loose tens of thousands of dollars. With any investment opportunity, it's critical that you do your homework. So please, seek legal advice if you plan to invest. Here are some links that could help out:

Federal Trade Commission

Securities and Exchange Commission

Better Business Bureau

That being said, it's amazing to me how quickly the tide can turn. A few weeks ago, the general consensus of anyone involved with the auto surfs was 'these are a risk, we have to take risks in business, there is no glory unless you risk something'. To my surprise, the new feeling is 'How could Storm Pay do this to us, I demand my money back, how could this happen.... Regardless of what Storm Pay did or did not do, it was a gamble, and the auto investment surfs lost that gamble for now.

Please take this as a learning experience. Whatever you decide to do with your online business, research it first. Before you spend a dime in ANY opportunity, do your home work! This is a dark day for many people involved in these programs, let's hope this never happens again with proper education and due diligence.

Program Review - Traffic Surfer

Remember in my opening about how a few new exchanges really caught my eye this week, well Traffic Surfer is not technically a new exchange. It's been out for a few months now, but this week re-released with a brand new look and *gasp* a unique script.

Traffic Surfer, at first glance, reminds you of TS25, especially the surf bar. However, it should not be confused as some Logiscape clone, this is a extremely unique traffic exchange and has some great features.

With all newer exchanges, the real challenge will be it's steady growth, but the pieces are in place. The members area could use a little better navigation but with unique scripts it does take some time to get used to it. All in all, this is a solid new design and a solid new program.

It's all up to the owner now, to see what direction it will go!

Uptime: 4.0
Features / Bonuses: 3.5
Site Design: 4.0 out of 5.0
Customer Service: 4.0 out of 5.0
Ease of Use: 3.0 out of 5.0

Overall Rating: 3.5 Mouse Clicks (Rating out of 5.0)

Have a look at Traffic Surfer!

Things That Make You Go...Hmmm? (A 'Different' Look at the Industry!)

  • Hey Mr. Pat Lovell of Traffic Soldiers, just to give you a news update, the Steelers won the Super Bowl! Hmmm....
  • It's been quite an opportunistic week for AlertPay huh? Hmmm....
  • New traffic exchange I saw while surfing this week, the ad read, 5000 credits to join and a 1:1 surf ratio...This is what we call, immediate back log before you even start! Hmmm....
