Get ready for a fun filled issue, plenty of news and everyone should really enjoy Mr. Tony Tezak's article this week, it's eye opening stuff! So sit back, grab your favorite mug, fill it up with the beverage of your preference and get ready to talk 'traffic exchanges!' Thanks for reading this week's issue of Hit Exchange News!

The News
The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum! Enjoy this week's list!

Deep Thoughts - Feature Articles
Deep Thoughts by Jon OlsonI read a great article by Tim Whiston on his Net Marketing Exposed Blog and it really got me thinking about this crazy business we call traffic exchange advertising. I mean, I understand the whole concept of finding something that works and duplicating it, that's great. I mean, companies have been doing this for years. Someone comes up with a great idea, and then imitators and duplicators flood the market with cookie cutter products. Sure you can make money taking other people's ideas, but why not build your own legacy? So my little rant this week is about the importance of innovation in this business. First example, the pixel pages. Remember the college kid in England who started the first one, he was an innovator, his name was Alex Tew. Can you name me the guy or gal that created the second pixel page? Or the third? Or even the 1500th? It does come with business, but the message I'm trying to get across is to be different. Stick out from the crowd. You do not need to re-invent the wheel but try to create something unique to you. Bring your own flair into your advertising campaigns. Yes, the sad fact is, 95% or more of you that read this article will continue to surf the exchanges day in and day out, promoting a generic affiliate site, and then in 5 months, throw up your arms and say 'traffic exchanges don't work'... But for the rest of us, let's roll up our sleeves and start to innovate! Wanna know how to start? Simple, join a forum, post in a blog, pay attention to the pages in the exchanges, attend a conference and build your network. You will be amazed at what your mind can come up with when you feed it the right stuff...
------------------
Tony's ThoughtsWhy the Everything is FREE Mentality? Many traffic exchanges/programs now offer live online conferences. These are valuable resources for the inside scoop in programs/traffic exchanges. Many times it is at these conferences you find information that may not be written anywhere else. But....... Are you a participant or are you a 'professional' conference attendee? Do you put into practice any of the ideas floated about or do you just go to be going and keep on floundering about? Do you participate in question and answer sessions? Do you go away without having your questions answered, but decide not to ask the question? These conferences may be free for you to attend, but they are not free for those conducting the conferences. Conferences rooms do cost money. Those conducting the conferences are 'spending' there hard earned 'time' to conduct them. There is preparation time. Everything on the internet cost someone money! 'Free' traffic exchanges are not free. There is hosting costs, design costs, upgrade costs, advertising costs, costs in time, etc. Have you upgraded in anything recently? There is not a single way to make any money on the internet without spending some money. Yes, occasionally you can make a few cents here or there. People will spend hours and days attending these 'free' conferences, but never dream of upgrading in the program. The thought process seems to be 'I need to make money first and then I will upgrade.' Think about it for a second! You want someone to pay you something by you not investing a single penny. I just do not understand this thought pattern. There has been some discussion in some quarters that only about 2-10% of traffic exchange members are upgraded. Think about it....2-10% of the surfers are supporting the exchanges so the other 90-98% have a place to advertise for free. The best part is that many of those non-payers think they should be able to earn something from the exchanges. Oh well...... Here is what I want each of you to do today! Go through each of the programs/exchanges you belong. Pick the one you like the best for whatever reason and THEN UPGRADE in that program/exchange. Think about it....think of the commissions that could be made if 25% of the members in each program/exchange were upgraded. Hope this article did not rub any raw nerves, but just a little food for thought. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tony Tezak is the owner of Traffic-Edge.com and one of the most well known surfers in the traffic exchanges. For years, Tony has been showing people how to get the most from these programs and is always willing to sit down and chat about traffic exchanges!
Program Review - Splash BuildersDifferent kind of review this week. Different because it's a service, rather than a program. Different because it's what happens when one puts *here comes the word of the week* 'innovative' designs into a splash page. Different because it just doesn't look like anything else out there. It's SplashBuilders.com and it a new splash page design company headed up by Derek Blandford and Brett Phillips. I kind of laugh when I see it, because I remember thinking to myself the first time I saw one of their websites that 'this guy could make a killing at designing splash pages'. Well, I don't know if they are making a killing, but it's great to see such positive feedback from their work. See, this is the thing, the entire concept of a splash page is to stick out. You WANT to be noticed in the exchanges and SplashBuilders provides great products that stand out from the clutter. One thing I know is splash pages, and I can tell you this, SplashBuilders is the real deal! Sure wish they had an affiliate program though *lol* Have a look at Splash Builders!
