The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry!
April 20th, 2006

One To Click On by Jon

Welcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News!

A whole week of surfing the exchanges after my little two week vacation made me notice a few things...With all the lessons, conferences, tools, training and support that show members how to use splash pages, only a small percentage will still use them.

What about ad tracking? Do you have an ad tracker? Are you seeing for yourself what works and what does not? Are you attending the weekly seminars that take place in this industry, put on daily by dedicated surfers and owners alike?

It's time folks! It's really time to grab the bull by the horns and take your traffic exchange advertising to the next level. As a program owner I see the growth that is taking place each and everyday in this business. Are you ready to stake your claim in this side of the internet?

Get out there, use the tools that are proven to work! Meet new members, and network wherever possible. Ask questions (I am someone that will respond to any e-mail that is sent to me, please send me any questions you have). Roll up your sleeves and use these traffic exchanges to their full potential!

O.k., enough of the pep talk...*lol*

Thanks for reading this week's issue of Hit Exchange News!

The News

  • A brand new Pro Only Downline Builder was launched this week by the owner of More Actual Visitors. This free to join program is another step towards bringing the pro-only model to the forefront of the traffic exchange industry. Will it catch on? Are pro-only exchanges here to stay?
  • We've got a new owner in this mix this week! Welcome to the traffic exchange industry Mr. Mark Cohen. Mark is the new owner of WolfSurfer.com. I must say, I'm sad to see John Farrar leave the helms, but hopefully Mark has got some big things planned for this great traffic exchange!
  • A targeted rotator? I'm confused too, but it looks like the owner of TrafficMeet.com has come up with this unique new idea called the Rotargeter. It actually rotates your URLs but at the same time targets who sees what page and when. Interesting concept, we'll see if it takes off.
  • Congratulations to Traffic Soldiers for reaching 7300 plus members this week. As well to EasyHits4U for reaching 26,000 members! Again, these exchanges continue to deliver week after week and *shhhh* they are some of the best kept secrets in this industry.
  • This Week's Splash Page Hall of Fame Entry are these splash pages by StartXChange! You'll need to refresh them to see all three, but wow, they are great. To the point, funny and well designed make these splash pages some of the best I saw this week while surfing.

The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, Click Crazey and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. If you want to see how well they are performing each week, please check TestHoopla top 20 weekly ranking!

Deep Thoughts - Feature Articles

Deep Thoughts by Jon Olson

Things can get interesting over at Net Marketing Forum. Something that peaked my interest is how owners do different things with their programs. They way they manage them, the way the run them, is unique from exchange to exchange.

Yes, we are all individuals and choose to run things as we see fit. However sometimes 'opinions' can get crossed and debates start. This is healthy, and this is what this business needs...Communication.

When it all comes down to it, as owners we ask, what do the members want? Let's put it this way, if a member does not feel like he / she is being treated well at a traffic exchange, they will not surf their anymore. Plain and simple, we are in business because surfers are in business.

So my rant this week, isn't really going on one topic, rather it's to shed light on how important it is for you to decide what programs you enjoy surfing the most. My little Top 10 list, is what works for me this week. It may be completely different than your top 10, it may be similar. Just follow my example of using the programs that you feel benefit your business the most.

If an owner does something right, let them know. If they mess up, provide them with a suggestion on how to make things right. Communication is the key! Like I said earlier, traffic exchanges are in business because the surfers are in business. Let's work together and keep things improving everyday!

Tony's Thoughts

Start You Own Downline Builder!

As many of you know, I am not a big fan of downline builders. Last Summer there were 2 downline builders that were the latest rage. Where are they now? Who knows....they have basically disappeared.

These owners have probably moved on to other things. There are many folks who used them to build downlines in traffic exchanges. That is why YOU should build your own downline builder for traffic exchanges. STOP relying on others and promoting others.

Select 10-20 good manual traffic exchanges, create a page, and advertise it. Be careful in the exchanges you select for your list. If you make a list just to make a list it will show and people will not take you seriously. If you want to be taken seriously DO NOT place any Auto Surf exchanges on your list. If everyone is auto surfing who is viewing the sites....think about it.

You say, "How can I make my list I do not have a domain?" If you are serious about making some money on the internet, you need your own domain. Why advertise someone else, advertise yourself. Other programs will come and go, but YOUR domain is forever! You are in control. You decide what traffic exchanges are on YOUR list. It can be changed whenever you want. There is no need to wait on some downline builder owner to change, add, or delete traffic exchanges from YOUR list.

Cheers!

Program Review - Utbyte

It's one of those programs you first saw, and told yourself you would watch to see how it grew. Well it grew, and continued to grow for over a year. It's called Utbyte and it's a decent traffic exchange that just needs that extra 'kick'.

This was an original Hit Exchange 101 project, but has not had any major promotion done for it in quite sometime. The exchange is running on an LJ Script, so all the features you expect are there, alive and well.

The program has very good traffic flow but communication has been limited for sometime from the owner. Again, with an extra push, maybe a redesign, this program can continue to deliver very good traffic.

Things That Make You Go...Hmmm? (A 'Different' Look at the Industry!)

  • Only 4 weeks until the Focus 4 Seminar in Dallas...I'm excited! Hmmm....
  • Hey Google, we're all patiently waiting to see if your 'payment processor' will compete with PayPal! Hmmm....
  • Do you use MySpace for networking? I tried, but only managed to get Tom as a friend... Hmmm....
