The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry!
June 1st, 2006

One To Click On by Jon

Welcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News!

As I mentioned last week in HEN, Pay Pal has now banned auto surfs from their allowed list of programs. The writing is on the wall, these kind of programs must be stopped before any more damage is done to hard working people online.

With that in mind, this week many of the manual traffic exchange owners have finally got on board and started to ban them as well. I myself, have come on board because of one major problem that can potential hurt us all, the creation of 'manual investment surfs'.

Folks, these thing pose a huge risk to not only the traffic exchange industry but the hundreds if not thousands of people that make this industry work each and everyday. What can we do to nip this before it gets out of hand (a la 12 Daily Pro)?

Educate! These are not traffic exchanges. A traffic exchange is a web site promotion tool. Not a business investment scheme, not a daily investment fund, just a simple service. You look at my site, I look at yours. Nothing more, nothing less. This has to be so clear in this day and age and I am begging for the owners of these programs to stop and think before releasing anymore.

We learned a lot from the auto surf fiasco, let not see the second coming of the debacle with the manual ones too.

Thanks for reading this week's issue of Hit Exchange News!

  • There was some major changes done to Hit Hurricane this past week, and it looks like things are really starting to improve. This could be one of the best exchanges on the market, if we keep getting new features added like these. Be sure to check it out!
  • In other news this week, ClicksMatrix polled their members to see if they would be in favor of loosing the MLM structure to go with a 1 level $5 commission. I voted in favor of this move, and hopefully it ends up like this. *Crossing fingers*
  • This Week's Splash Page Hall of Fame Entry is this page from TS25. Yup, those folks at Logiscape sure do 'get it' when it comes to traffic exchange promotion. A great looking page, quick loading and too the point. Notice their logo on the top left. Perfect branding!

The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, Click Crazey and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. If you want to see how well they are performing each week, please check TestHoopla top 20 weekly ranking!

Deep Thoughts by Jon Olson

I love contests, and I should get back into the swing of things at I Love Hits and start them up again. Recently, TS25 had a nice little contest that I just found out about a week ago. It was cool, lots of cash being given away and I actually won a few credits as well for being a 'super sponsor' and such.

Why are contests important? Let me put it this way, a properly promoted and unique contest does wonders for a traffic exchange. While a generic 'free credit' giveaway goes un-noticed by the masses.

I mean, of all the contests out there, how many did you really pay attention to and become active in? Which ones really stood out from the crowd? Basically, which ones did you participate in?

So what does it take for people to get on board and promote a TE during these contests. Simple, show me an active owner, and I'll show you an active membership. If the owner is in front of the public, promoting his / her brand, chances are that attitude is contagious and people will get on board. So it all starts from within.

Contest are a lot of fun, and I always look for a unique one to jump in on. But just like the TE business, it can get crowded!

Tony's Thoughts

Changes Coming to Manual Traffic Exchanges

The fall of 12DailyPro and the subsequent fall of StormPay as a pay processor should have been a wakeup call to those promoting and creating illegal auto surf investment programs.....read my lips...illegal. PayPal has declared that all auto surf programs are unfit to use their services.

Now, we have some scumbags creating and people promoting manual traffic exchange investment programs. Hey Folks, if auto surf investment programs are illegal....guess what...so are manual traffic exchange investment programs. If these programs are not nipped in the bud, it will not be long before PayPal gets tired of the entire traffic exchange world and drops anything with the words 'traffic exchange' in them.

Finally, something is uniting many owners of manual traffic exchanges into action....Banning all traffic exchange investment programs from being advertised on their exchanges. I congratulate all of those who do! To those who do not ban them, I say 'Shame on You'.

In the past, many of these owners refused to ban programs from their exchanges. They felt surfers should decide for themselves what to advertise regardless of their legality or outrageous income claims. Now, many of these owners have come to realize these illegal programs are a real threat to their own existence.

As an advertiser on manual traffic exchanges, I say thanks to those who are banning these types of 'investment exhcanges. To surfers, I say we should unite and report any and all traffic exchange investment programs we see while surfing. Yes, even report them to exchanges that allow them! These traffic exchange investment programs must be stopped...NOW!

Program Review - Traffic Punk

Wow, do I ever love good designs! I mean I honestly think this makes or breaks a TE before it even launches. If a traffic exchange has a great design, not only will I join it, but I will keep a close eye on it's progress and development.

Take for example, Traffic Punk. While it looks like an everyday TCN script, the site design is very well done and it has a very cool feel to it. I like the color combinations the most and the easy to use interface of the TCN makes this a pleasure to surf.

As with all newer exchanges, the proof is in the pudding. And how well with this program be received in the upcoming months. That is the test and that is the true measure of a TE. So far though, it has impressed quite a few people!

Uptime: 4.0
Features / Bonuses: 3.0
Site Design: 5.0 out of 5.0
Customer Service: 4.0 out of 5.0
Ease of Use: 4.0 out of 5.0
