The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry!
June 8th, 2006

One To Click On by Jon

Welcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News!

What's the rush? I mean, why is this the only industry on the planet where people expect results right away? How long is the turn around in an offline business before it sees a profit? 3 years or more? However online people expect results right away.

I get cancellations from time to time via my traffic co-op Doctor Traffic and when I do, I always send a customer support questionnaire to see how I can improve my service. Guess what the number one answer was when asked how long have you been a member? Less than a month. Or how about when I ask why did you cancel? The response is usually something like this...

I expected to see results the day I joined, and will not spend any more money until I see results right away...

I don't know what to say to those kind of replies. The majority of the time I shrug it off, but then I get to thinking about the 7 years I have put into my business and the fact that 5 of those years I was practically living on peanut scraps. Ahhh I get it now, a business is never supposed to struggle, it's supposed to get out the gate from day one and earn tens of thousands a week...

It just does not happen like that. I mean, even if you had all the money in the world I still think it would take time to build your brand, build your customer base, build your trust with your clients, it just does not happen overnight.

Please remember, with traffic exchanges a slow and steady pace always win the race. By maintaining a solid presence in the T.E.'s you are building your brand awareness so that in 6 months, people will remember who you are. Keep in front of people for a sustained amount of time and you will start to see the results.

It's not pretty and it's not the fun that some forced matrix promised but it works! Just remember this simple rule, stay in front of your customers for the long run and don't give up after a month!

Thanks for reading this week's issue of Hit Exchange News!

  • So long Mr. Tezak! After 7 years of clicking on the traffic exchanges and educating thousands of people on how to make a living on these programs, Tony Tezak has decided to hang up his mouse and retire from online business. I just wanted to thank Tony for the months of contribution he has made to HEN and for everything he has done for this business. Thanks again Tony, do enjoy your retirement!
  • With Tony's retirement comes an empty spot at HEN. Every week Tony contributed an article and his 'Tony's Thought' became one of the most read sections of the newsletter. So I'm putting the call out for anyone that would like to contribute every week to HEN. The only requirements really is that it's a weekly feature and that it's traffic exchange related. Please let me know if you are interested by clicking here.
  • Blog Explosion not sold yet? This week it came to the attention of many that Blog Explosion still does not have a permanent home yet. Steve Sartain, the would be owner of B.E., apparently had some issues with his investment team and the site is still not 100% sold to Mr. Sartain. At last check the domain still remained property of Jeff and Thomas (the original owners).
  • This Week's Splash Page Hall of Fame Entry is this page from Carnival Clicks. Another great page, simple to the point and the best thing, is that it brands the logo!

The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

Enjoy this week's list!

  1. Traffic Roundup
  2. WebmasterQuest
  3. TS 25
  4. StartXChange
  5. Hit Pulse
  6. Traffic Soldiers

Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, Click Crazey and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. If you want to see how well they are performing each week, please check TestHoopla top 20 weekly ranking!

Deep Thoughts - Feature Articles

Deep Thoughts by Jon Olson

So you want to build a downline huh?

I have heard years of advice on how to build a downline in a traffic exchange. I have even heard you shouldn't try to build a downline in a T.E. With so much out there and conflicting advice, what is the best way to tackle this issue that pops up from time to time.

Let's be honest, building a downline in each and every new traffic exchange that pops up would be crazy but it would be equally as crazy to not jump on a new program by a reputable company such as Logiscape for example. It would be well worth it to build a downline there because just a few weeks of effort can really pay dividends in the long run.

The first thing you should do is decide whether or not a new T.E. is worth promoting. You can generally get a feel for how well a new T.E. will do, simply by looking at the site design. Does it look professional? Does it have a logo? Do you know the owner? Is it a legal business model? Remember, there are over 2000 traffic exchanges online, but only about 20-40 of them produce decent results. Do your research on this new T.E. and see what the general feeling around the industry is about it.

Next, build a splash page specifically for this T.E. This is paramount in your efforts because you will stick out from the crowd if a lot of people start advertising it. I created many splash pages for new T.E.'s I knew would be a hit. Take a look at some of the splash pages I created for Max Traffic Pro , Traffic Pods and Pro Traffic Shop. Each splash page, I use the logo so that people know which program I am promoting, but it's unique enough to grab people's attention.

And finally, monitor your results. Promoting a new T.E. can take up a lot of time and you should only spend a few weeks promoting it. After that, it will become a flooded market and then it's best to 'suggest' a T.E. in your mailing list and / or through a downline builder. However that initial rush can really help build your team in a new traffic exchange. Again it's very important to know if that new program will stand the test of time. So do research and find out which new program will become the 'next big thing' in the Traffic Exchange Industry!

Program Review - Traffic Exchange Road Map

Now more than ever, I feel like there is a huge need for quality traffic exchange related products. If you are a budding entrepreneur and looking for a good way to get into this industry, you may want to seriously consider coming up with a unique and useful product to help people get results with the T.E.'s. Case in point, Stephen Ayer's Traffic Exchange Road Map.

This new training course / e-book was launched a few weeks ago, and I sent out a special alert to it's launch as well. The results spoke for them self, their is a huge need for quality information products and or services that directly relate to this business.

This e-book is a great resource for newbies and experienced surfers a like. The real neat thing about it, is that while Stephen writes about a certain topic, some of his contributors tips and tricks will follow the chapter. So you get more than one point of view for almost every topic that is brought up in the book.

Again, this is a solid addition to the industry but more importantly it shows a real gap in these kind of products for this market. Should another 'how to' e-book be created? I would suggest something completely different. There are now three e-books that tackle this subject perfectly, now is the time to get creative and find another niche within the T.E. market!

  • Profit Rally update...All subscriptions have been cancelled, PR's PayPal account has been suspended and thousands have yet to be paid to member's accounts... Hmmm....
