Issue 140One To Click On by JonWelcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News! O.k., no more vacation for me! I'm finally home after 4 weeks on the road and I must say it's great to be back. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy time off, but when you have little to no internet connection and you are running a business online, it can be quite stressful even when you are supposed to be relaxing. That being said, I do apologize for the missed weeks of the News. It has been a crazy few weeks here and from what I can tell, this industry is as healthy and as strong as ever. We had quite a little 'launch' this past week, and it caused quite a stir in Net Marketing Forum to lead up to it's release. So I'm back, and ready to spread the word again about the wonderful world of traffic exchanges. I hope you enjoy this week's newsletter and most of all, have fun in your online advertising! Thanks for reading this week's issue of Hit Exchange News!

The News
The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum! Enjoy this week's list!

Deep Thoughts - Feature Articles
Deep Thoughts by Jon OlsonDo You Blog? Oh wow, I have to be so honest here. I am scared of blogs. As some of you know, I started Hit Exchange Blog so that I could have some kind of blog presence. Without the help of a LOT of people, that blog would have never been online. I myself, am a complete newbie when it comes to blogs. I even have troubles turning on my computer from time to time (yes, I'm that bad). I'm not very technical, but with everyone TELLING me that I need a blog, I decided to invest some time and money into developing Hit Exchange Blog. So I put all this work into trying to learn how to blog and then my good friend Mike Paetzold releases Word Press Tutorials which would have saved me about a month of agony and hundreds of dollars in script work. If you ever wanted to learn the in's and out's of Word Press, which is by far the most popular and effective Blogging script, Mike's tutorials are a must. The entire program is so easy to follow and cuts your learning curve in half without you having to break a sweat (like I did each and every time someone told me to start blogging). So here I am, months later and I've got HEB (hit exchange blog) online. Am I getting used to the blogging world and everything it can do for my business? Absolutely. Do I still this RSS (real 'simple' syndication) is an oxymoron if I ever heard one? Oh I sure do! Look out world, Jon's starting to blog now.....

FYI by Pat MarcelloLast night, my husband and I were flipping through the TV channels. You've done it lots of times, too, I'm sure. Here's what happens: Let's try HBO… Hmm… a movie we've seen three times already and paid for twice. OK, let's try CBS… CSI, again? Drat. Maybe Fox has something. Oh, nope. Bones new season hasn't started yet pffft! On you go and you soon realize that you're in (insert loud echoing voice here) TV Wasteland (/voice). Most of the time, I'll just go and do something else, like read a book or work on a project. But some days, when I fall onto the sofa at night, I'm pretty tired and am just looking for some zombie time. Is that how you feel when you're surfing traffic exchanges? Sure, you've seen the same ads and announcements over and over and over and then some. But you know, sometimes, I'll sit and watch a movie I've seen repeatedly, too. O, Brother Where Art Thou is one of my favorites and each time I watch it, I hear or see something I missed and laugh all over again, from a new perspective. Think about this: If you're surfing and just letting those sites pass you by, you could be missing out. Give the site another chance and maybe, just maybe there's something that will attract your interest the hundredth time you see it pass by. Perhaps there's a new surf ratio at one of the exchanges or maybe an offer you've seen so many times is now adding a dynamite bonus that makes it more attractive. Another great reason to actually read the ads is to learn from the way they're written. Some of them just turn me flat off. Aha! Something I don't want to do in my own copy writing. Or, if you see a killer phrase or idea, you just might do well to adopt the writing style or some of the kick-butt words that turned you on. Learn with every passing URL. Or, and this is the best of a win-win situation, you'll find a great product. My budget isn't that huge (yet), but I've found some awesome tools in traffic exchanges. Some of them, I've had the funds to cough up, others I haven't. But money isn't always the issue. You can find some really fine stuff while surfing that's 100% free. I sign up for every teleseminar, I swear. I don't often buy what's being sold, but sometimes (like last month), I kick up a wad for something of true value. I'd have missed those things if I hadn't been paying attention. Really, don't let surfing time become zombie time. It doesn't take long to pick out the important parts of any site. Just re-evaluate offers you've seen, listen to speakers you've heard before, and yes, take another gander at that latest, greatest traffic exchange. You could be surprised. It's way better than being a zombie, isn't it? Not everything goes well with green.

Program Review - Focus 4 CheckerThis could be one of the most important programs to ever come into the traffic exchange industry. Imagine a system that guaranteed your computer would be safe when surfing a traffic exchange. This means NO viruses, NO frame breakers, NO abusive sites and best of all, peace of mind while surfing. It does exist and it's called the Focus 4 Checker. Created by the same guys who brought you the extremely popular Focus 4 Seminar series, the checker was created to protect surfers when they surfed the traffic exchanges. Far too many horror stories are surfacing from traffic exchange surfers whose computers have been affected by the sites they view online. That being said, the Focus 4 checker does have a few tweaks and bugs that need to get worked out but once this program is 100% it will be sought after from users who want to protect their computers. It's sad that programs like these need to be created but thanks to the Focus 4 guys, it does not have to cause any more problems for the surfers.
