The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry!
February 15th, 2007

One To Click On by Jon

Welcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News!

It's quickly approaching... Yes it's that time of the year again where a few traffic exchange owners and surfers decide to step into the 'other side' of internet marketing and attend the annual Focus 4 Marketing Seminar.

This year's seminar is in Dallas, Texas which is good because it will give me an excuse to watch a Mavericks game. Sorry that's the sports fan in me coming out. But there will be another healthy doze of traffic exchange influence at this years event.

I even heard that one of the organizers, our own Robert Puddy, will be a speaker at the event. Hopefully Mr. Puddy can spread some good traffic exchange gospel and get people asking questions about our little fun filled industry.

Stay tuned for more updates about the seminar, and if you do decide to come to Dallas on between March 16-18th just a note that I take everyone out for dinner that is involved in the traffic exchanges and attends the seminar. Dinner's on me in Big D! (And I will be paying attention to Mr. Bill Carr's (Traffic Hoopla) recommendations for places to eat, he is THE man when it comes to good food in Dallas)...

Have a great week and enjoy Hit Exchange News!

The News

  • Thanks to Home Income Team for one of the most successful joint ventures in the history of the traffic exchanges. Mr. Michael Cobb from H.I.T. released his one of a kind special offer this week which gave all his members some incredible deals in the traffic exchanges. If you get a chance, be sure to check out this historic 'JV'. Thanks to both Michael and Soren for their support of the traffic exchanges!
  • Logiscape, the owners of TS 25, Traffic Pods and Hit Pulse, released their brand new banner exchange program Back Bone Banners this week. This looks to be a sample of what they plan to do with the program and it should be interesting to see how this will be combined with their current exchanges. Fun times at Logiscape Land!
  • One of the better designed traffic exchanges online has gone missing in action for over a week now. Down Under Hits had a great theme and one of the best site designs I can remember. However the domain has expired and there has been no word from the owner yet as to when it will be back online.
  • This Week's Splash Page Hall of Fame Entry is this page! The headline really grabbed me and I love the look of the 'coupon outline'. A very good splash page that should do very well!

The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

Enjoy this week's list!

  1. TS 25
  2. WebmasterQuest
  3. Max Traffic Pro
  4. Magnify Traffic
  5. Mystical Maze
  6. Link Crews
  7. Traffic AT The Races
  8. Traffic Punk
  9. Hit Safari
  10. StartXChange

Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, Click Crazey and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. If you want to see how well they are performing each week, please check TestHoopla top 20 weekly ranking!

Deep Thoughts by Jon Olson

Take It Easy!

If you are like me, you spend way too much time sitting in front of your computer. Something that I rarely think about is what the constant 'sitting and clicking' is doing to my health. As it stands, I have not been blessed with a slim and trim figure, so guess what? I'm a prime candidate for health problems down the road. I am changing that however.

It's recommended that you take a 15 minute break for every hour that you are 'sitting in front of the box'. And I do, I even purchased a tread mill this year so I could get some blood pumping after a days work. It's so important to take steps to improve your health if you plan on making a business from your online efforts.

Something else that will become a factor is carpal tunnel syndrome. While I am not suffering yet from the effects, I do get pains in my arms from surfing so much. The best relief I did was purchase a 'stress ball' and I squeeze it all the time. It really helps me, and let's me continue to surf without any troubles.

This is the nasty side of working online, and not too many people talk about it. Steve Ayling of Traffic At The Races sent me an email about this product called Healthy Computing which is a nice little ebook about tips and tricks to help keep you in tip top shape.

I made a resolution (as did millions of others) to get active in the new year. If I manage my physical fitness like I manage my business, I should do O.K. Slow and steady wins the race =)

Program Review - Gaming House Hits

I have already reviewed this program but it has gotten a complete face lift and is under new management. So essentially, this is a brand new program compared to what I reviewed a while back.

First, the obvious. Gaming House Hits looks like a haven for online gambling and online poker rooms. Appearances can be deceiving though as this is a wonderful traffic exchange that has a variety of pages in rotation but best of all this program is delivering great traffic right now.

The layout plays off the 'gambling' theme and while it may scare some people away, this program is a very solid addition to the industry. It's based on the TCN Script, so if you like programs like Max Traffic Pro and Traffic Planets, you'll love this.
