The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry!
March 1st, 2007

One To Click On by Jon

Welcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News!

Hey did you hear about this little program that was launched this week? It's a cool new way to look at downline building and I heard one of the owners of it is quite the character. The program is called Affiliate Funnel and yes, it's my new little baby.

I started this program with my partners, Mike Paetzold and John Merrick, almost a year ago. Essentially we have been waiting for the perfect time to launch it, as we wanted to make sure it was well received by the industry. So far, it's exceeded expectations.

I'm going to go into a little more detail below on what a 'funnel' is and how this can spell the end of all downline building theories. It may become the 'new way' to finally get the people you want onboard with any project you are starting or promoting.

I'm excited, I know my partners are and we hope you will join us on our little 'flipping of the downlines'.

Thank you very much for being a subscriber and enjoy Hit Exchange News!

The News

  • Not a bad week for Traffic Swarm. The internet's largest traffic exchange was featured in an offline magazine called 'Website Magazine' this month and was named the number 1 online resource for promotion and advertising. Not too shabby huh?
  • BackBone Banners, which is the new banner exchange program from the guys that brought you TS25, Traffic Pods and Hit Pulse has now been integrated into each traffic exchange. You can now earn, exchange and add banners to these popular programs. Remember, don't think 'click through rate', think branding potential!
  • This really sucks, but as an owner I get to see what sites are reported the most. And it's from two extremely reputable site rotators, Page Swirl and Free Rotator. These abusive members are taking these two rotators, which have a great working relationship with other owners, and sticking in abusive sites into each rotator. They mostly consist of i-frame and PPC refreshing scripts. If you see these sites in rotation, please report them to both the owner of the exchange and the site rotator owner so we can tackle this problem quickly.
  • Wow, wow, wow, wow! That's all I can say when I see the new design of Real Hitz 4 U. This popular traffic exchange got a major re-design this week, and I've got to admit, this is one of the best looking designs I have ever seen. Amazing job!
  • This Week's Splash Page Hall of Fame Entry is this page! Speaking of Real Hits 4 U, this is an amazing splash page which really grabs your attention. This is a traffic exchange to watch, I expect big things in 2007 from it.

The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

Enjoy this week's list!

  1. TS 25
  2. StartXChange
  3. Max Traffic Pro
  4. Dragon Surf
  5. Traffic AT The Races
  6. Traffic Swarm
  7. Traffic Roundup
  8. Royal Surf

Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, Click Crazey and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. If you want to see how well they are performing each week, please check TestHoopla top 20 weekly ranking!

2007 - The Year of the Funnel

So I launched Affiliate Funnel this week. It's been great! We've been getting some great feedback from it and so far the entire feeling has been positive. So why did Mike, John and I launch this thing? What is our agenda? I mean come on Olson, there must be some agenda right?

O.k., the truth..Right here, right now! My agenda is to really get people into the mentality of the 'sales funnel'. Think of this now as an 'hour glass' shape. The funnel is the top, this is where you will fill it with all your potential leads, clients and customers. Some will stay with you and some will leave, but if you structure your funnel properly, these potential clients can become your best customers. This is where the 'magic' happens...

Once you have found your lazer targeted audience, the bottom of your funnel, you can start to really see results and maybe, actually build that 'elusive downline' that seems to never work out like the ad copy says it would on XYZ Money Maker. To tell you the truth, with this model as your way of building leads and clients, it works much more effectively because the people that do join your downlines from a funnel will trust you, will believe in you and most importantly will stick with you.

So there you have it, we have officially flipped the downlines and started the 'funnel revolution'. I hope you see the huge potential. Combined with a strong traffic exchange presence, you can start filling your funnel right now! Remember, all you want to do is fill the funnel. Your ideas, your way of doing business and your attitude will determine how many people stick with you all the way down the funnel.

Want to learn more about 'funnel marketing' and the idea of flipping the downlines? We are having a special introduction for all Captain Members of SWAT Traffic this evening at 8pm Eastern (-5 GMT) as well as the first official Affiliate Funnel seminar this Saturday at 12 pm Eastern (-5 GMT).

The Voices of the TE Industry

Food For Thought By John Gaunzon

Is your patience wearing thin with all the free or paid programs that you signed up for? All of which promised to deliver, then seem to be falling short of your needs. Believe it or not, there are no systems or programs that can assure that you get results from traffic delivered to your website. It only takes you.

Ok allow me to rewind just a bit, keep in mind that this does not mean the programs you may have signed up for are no good. They may be some of the best of their kind. But you must understand that they WILL NOT do all the work for you. Lot's of webmaster's get frustrated and give up on programs that give little results to no results quickly, but what you must remember is that you get what you put in.

Consider instead each program that you sign up for as a tool, to be used towards your online goals. A tool like a shovel. Say you needed some holes dug, would you lay the shovel on the ground and then expect it to start working away? Of course not. It is a great tool, although it needs you to use a certain amount of energy for it to reach it's true value as a useful tool.

A lot of the frustration comes from simply not knowing how to properly use the tools that you have at hand to reach their full value. Try as you may, it could very well seem as if nothing you are trying is working. You may say I know I tried everything, but have you taken the time to truly research if and why it's not working? Or have you simply noticed little to no change on your site's hit counter and decided that it is not working.

It boils down to research, and this is where the successful money makers online excel. If they have their link posted anywhere, on any program, or site; they have a way to see how many times people clicked through, what page those people where on prior, what browser those people where using, what country they were from, almost everything except a social security number. And does something like this cost? Yes, it can be found for free on the web. Although you can get better results if you find a paid version. That is where you have to ask yourself, if your not willing to pay for this service then are you truly taking your business seriously? So once again this is where research, time, and patience come into play.

So before you give up on your new or old tools saying they fell short of your needs, ask yourself:

Did I fall short of my needs?

Program Review - Splash Points

Last year's word that I lived by was 'Focus', I spend the entire year, dedicated to I Love Hits and my traffic exchange related endeavors. This year's word is 'loyalty' for me. I want to dedicated this year to creating customer and client loyalty because far too often we forget that the reason we are in business is because of the people we work with everyday.

Enter Splash Points, a new customer loyalty program developed by Richard Taylor with one single goal in mind, to create customer loyalty and let your clients know they are appreciated. Think of this as a customer reward program where merchants can offer you Splash Points with every purchase, sign up, upgrade, etc. The more points you collect, you can then trade them in for great products and services.

I really hope people embrace this idea, because with the ever present 'slot machine marketing' mentality, it's hard to keep people with you for the long run. Splash Points helps this and gets people thinking 'long term' rather than a quick buck. A great program for bother owner and user.
