Issue 171One To Click On by JonWelcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News! Traffic flow! Want to know how I choose a traffic exchange to surf often? If it can deliver the traffic, I will surf it. For example, I've been spending a lot of time these days surfing Real Hitz 4 U and StartXchange. Right now, these programs are delivering great for me. But what is too much flow? TS25 is crazy. You can go through 500 credits in less than an hour these days and I'm having a hard time trying to decide if this is too quick to deliver traffic or what should be expected. I like to space my traffic out for 24 hours, basically I want my sites seen each and every minute of the day or as close to that goal as possible. So what are some options? Create bigger campaigns, that's one way of doing it. But also what I like to do is break my surfing up into 2 times a day. The first chunk I like doing in the morning when I wake up. And then I start my administrative duties around noon. Late afternoons start to get slow for me, and this is when I do another big chunk of my surfing so that I can hit that early evening rush that seems to take place for me. The trick, of course, is to track your stats and find out which hours of the day are best for you. But it's always a good practice to try to get your sites seen as much as possible, for as long as possible. It doesn't mean you need to get 500 hits per hour, everyday, remember to build this slow and steadily. Baby steps towards your ultimate goal. Thank you very much for being a subscriber and enjoy Hit Exchange News!

The News
The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum! Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, Click Crazey and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. Deep Thoughts - Feature ArticlesThe Firefox Debate So I did a poll a few months back about what browser you used to surf the traffic exchanges. You can see the results so far here and what is remarkable is how the shift has gone from being an 'Internet Explorer' dominated choice, to what is now obviously a FireFox dominated industry. Are we alone in this? Or is Firefox becoming more mainstream. One of the debates that takes place in internet marketing is the additions of certain plug in's that one can download with Firefox. Basically you can customize your browser as you see fit. Don't want music playing? Add a plug in to stop it. Don't want video loading? Add a plug in to stop it. So the question I ask is this? Is this hurting our business by stopping certain forms of advertising from ever reaching the end consumer? Or is this just the evolution of the internet and we have to adapt as marketers? The questions is still out there, what is your favorite browser for surfing the exchanges. But now it seems to be that we need to ask, is our favorite browser hurting or helping our bottom line...

Program Review - Red Hot ClicksYeah, this may be the most 'advanced' traffic exchange script on the market. It used to be called the Admin Easy script and while it does look to be very different from your standard LJ, TCN or Walker script, no major traffic exchange has yet to run this script to manage their program. Most of the programs using this script are upstarts and medium sized programs, so there is a lot of growth potential here. But there are bugs, and I'm sure it will get sorted out. Red Hot Clicks is a new addition to the industry that uses this new script and has a very nice site design. There are sign up bonuses so beware, traffic flow will be slow to start with. Also the member's area still needs work in my opinion, it's not that easy to navigate until you know what button does what. The site looks great though. The 'red' color scheme really keeps the theme going. And I do like some of the work that has been done to make it more user friendly than before. Plus the unique 'dynamic surf timer' is a pretty cool new feature that this program has added. So it rewards you for active surfing as well as lowers your timer the more you surf. Pretty cool indeed. There are flaws, but overall this program can be a real winner. It needs a ton of advertising and an active membership to not only promote it but also to surf it. Should be an interesting program to watch.
