Welcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News!

This is becoming like a broken record, but I'm back again from my latest road trip. It's been pretty hectic for me as I had 2 weddings I attended in August and it seems like I've been on the road for a month (it's only been 3 weeks though).

Case in point, enough of this summer madness, I'm back to work and back on schedule. It's been fun, but to be honest I miss the traffic exchanges and my work. So here I am, ready for year number 4 of Hit Exchange News.

Yes, the little newsletter that started in the summer of 2003 is now over 4 years old and continues to be the voice of the traffic exchange industry. Here's to another 4 years of fun commentary, the Top 10 list and all the wonderful subscribers that make H.E.N. what it is. Happy clicking!

• My traffic exchange I Love Hits reached a pretty big milestone this past week. We hit the 80,000 member mark last weekend. Disclaimer for all the folks that criticize me for claiming 80,000 members, this does not mean that there is 80,000 active members. It just means that since ILH started in 2001, 80,000 people have signed up for an account. It looks like we will hit the 100,000 member mark in early 2008 at the current rate of growth.
• Big news that just got released! Tim Linden has sold his commercial traffic exchange script the 'TCN Script' to Paul Kinder and Tim Rash. This is great news for anyone that has purchased a TCN script or is planning on buying one. I have recommended and use the TCN script for my consulting services and am very excited about the new ownership and future of this very popular traffic exchange script.
• Just a quick word about people that seem to love filing Pay Pal claims and bank reversals. First, I understand that if you get no response from owners and you have tried all the options than I completely agree that you should involve Pay Pal but to everyone else...Please understand something, all these claims against reputable and hard working traffic exchange owners will do nothing but hurt our industry. All reputable owners will address the issues as quickly as possible, without the need to involve a Pay Pal claim.
• This Week's Splash Page Hall of Fame Entry is this page! It's promoting James Grandstaff's new Downline Secrets 2 and wow is the best word to describe it. Perfect splash page that connects directly with the surfer and talks to them. Very well designed!

  
  
  

The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. Traffic Exchanges Make Me Go Hmmmm

The traffic exchanges is an interesting little industry. As big as some of us owners would like to think we are, we are still quite small when you look at the internet as a whole. What's even more amusing (if that's the right word) is how long these things have been around yet they are still not embraced by a huge chunk of the internet marketing arena.

Here's the kicker, if you are looking to brand your name or business and build your mailing list, you would be hard pressed to find a more effective free form of advertising. Strange because we are still thrown into the same category as free for all linking, which in my opinion hasn't been very effective since 2003. Why aren't we there yet? The question however that I ask myself is do we want to be at that level?

I like our growth and our market placement. The people who know about traffic exchanges and brush us off, I don't concern myself with. I concentrate on the current members who appreciate and see the value in the exchanges also the fact the we are still the front lines for many people that come online and look to start a business.

Yes, traffic exchanges are still number one at attracting new people into the online business industry. And that one little point there, if you tailor make your advertising campaigns around that, can be one of the most effective ways to brand yourself and build your list.

Program Review - Fast Easy Traffic

The new super-collective in the traffic exchange industry is without a doubt Paul Kinder and Tim Rash. These two gentlemen have taken the bull by the horns and made huge strides in both their businesses. Separate they are very powerful but together they are unstoppable.
