The Pulse of the Hit Exchange Industry!
September 6th, 2007

One To Click On by Jon

Welcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News!

There's a race taking place! It's a race to 7,000 active members at Affiliate Funnel. We've started a brand new promotion / contest and we're looking to giveaway thousands of dollars worth of advertising and upgrades at the various traffic exchanges within the Affiliate Funnel system.

Want to win a prize? It's simple. Refer one person and you get entered into the draw. But it gets even better. If you are the member that refers active member number 7,000, presto, instant cash reward as well. Not too shabby huh?

Affiliate Funnel has been one of the most solid programs I have ever been involved with and we're about to celebrate 6 months online. Not too bad for a marketing hub with no hidden agenda huh? Be sure to pop by and take part in the race to 7,000...

Thank you very much for being a subscriber and enjoy Hit Exchange News!

The News

  • A brand new ad tracking program was launched a few weeks ago. Dan Moses and Mark Brown recently launched Pro Tracker Plus to give traffic exchange users another option in the ad tracking side of things. The system looks great and while I'm still getting familiar with it, it looks like Dan and Mark have got some good things planned for this new program.
  • Pay Pal gave a lot of traffic exchange users and owners a scare this past week. For over 4 days all recurring subscriptions did not process. This caused a lot of headaches as some surfers were downgraded in various exchanges because the subscriptions were not processed. However, the good folks at eBay have fixed it and everything should be back to normal now. Who said this was not a job it's an adventure? lol
  • Congratulations goes out to Hit 2 Hit for celebrating 2 years of being online. Here's a traffic exchange with over 12,000 members that sometimes flies under the radar. This program has done a great job to build it's database and has more members in 2 years than most traffic exchanges get in 4. Well done!
  • This Week's Splash Page Hall of Fame Entry is this page! It's very funny and has even caused some controversy as well. Basically it's promoting Dragon Surf in a way that has never been seen before in the traffic exchanges.

The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum!

Enjoy this week's list!

  1. TS 25
  2. Dragon Surf
  3. Real Hitz 4 U
  4. Free Traffic Lotto
  5. Traffic Splash
  6. Advertising Know How
  7. Hit Safari

Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, Click Crazey and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. If you want to see how well they are performing each week, please check TestHoopla top 20 weekly ranking!

Deep Thoughts - Feature Articles

Warm and Fuzzy vs Blunt Talk

It's been an interesting few days on some of the forums and blogs around the traffic exchanges. It all stems back from a comment made about the site design of a traffic exchange. The comment was blunt, it was to the point and honestly, it was a slap in the face. Some folks got very upset about it, others looked at it as a wake up call for taking massive action. I'm not here to debate what was said or if it was handled properly or not, but here's my thing.

This business seems to reward mediocrity. There are groups of people in this business that are quite content with sitting back and patting each other on the back rather than making huge steps to improve their online business. I understand the need for folks to be a part of a community but I do not understand why people do not step up their business and make huge strides to improve it.

Site design and the visual aspect of your presentation is 110% of how you get results in the traffic exchanges. You have to look and feel like a million bucks. Why? Because your competition will invest in their look and feel. I cannot stress how important this is, especially if you are new to the traffic exchanges. Invest the money, which is usually not a lot, and get your splash pages looking great. Get your traffic exchanges to stick our like a soar thumb and as I've been saying for years, think 'shock and awe'.

How do you feel about this? Would you rather have a kind reminder to improve your services or a blunt comment about it? Have your say at the Net Marketing Forum and let your voice be heard.

Program Review - Mini Site Graphics

With all the talk about how important site design is, it seems only logical to review one of the best, if not the best site designers on the internet. I met Sean Lowery via the Warriors Forum and immediately jumped at the opportunity to work with him. Sean has designed countless traffic exchanges and web sites and is the creator of I Love Hits' and SWAT Traffic's look and feel.

I cannot say enough about Sean. The guy has become the go to guy for web site design in my book and he has become so busy that there are waiting lists to work with him. Yes, he's that good at what he does.

If you can, it's in your best interest to check him out. The link below has no affiliate code at all and I would recommend Sean until I'm blue in the face. Want shock and awe, go see Mini Site Graphics!

Things That Make You Go...Hmmm? (A 'Different' Look at the Industry!)

  • All my banners were deleted from Clicks Matrix for breaching their terms of service? Huh? Hmmm....
  • Wow, do I ever want to get to San Francisco in a few days. That seminar looks to be the biggest and best ever! Hmmm....
  • How cool is Start Xchange's 7 day challenge? Hmmm....
