Issue 188One To Click On by JonWelcome to the new issue of Hit Exchange News! What a huge week for traffic exchanges! Wow. Even though we had some tiffs and rants in some of the forums around the internet, we saw the re-launch of what I am calling the 'most improved traffic exchange of the year' as well as a very hot new program that got launched to some great response. This shows me how much our industry has grown. Of course we bump heads, of course we are a passionate bunch but one thing is certain after all is said and done...The members will benefit from all the improved services and programs. Owners can no longer just throw up a script and be in business. These programs take thousands of dollars to get off the ground properly and to be able to compete with some of these programs, new owners really need to do things right out of the gate. This means, quality goes up, users become more aware and everyone benefits. So if anyone is thinking of starting a traffic exchange on a show string budget, I hate being the bearer of bad news, but it just cannot happen in this day and age. Not saying it cannot be done, but it takes much more to make an impact compared to what it did a few years ago. Thank you very much for being a subscriber and enjoy Hit Exchange News!

The News
The HEN Top Ten results are based on traffic statistics (unique hits, traffic flow, hits delivered, traffic quality) and a touch of good old fashioned 'opinion'. The industry changes just like in the real world, so an exchange may not be on the list this week, but will be number 1 next week! Discuss this week's Top 10 list in the Net Marketing Forum! Enjoy this week's list!

Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, Click Crazey and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. Deep Thoughts - Feature ArticlesHow Do You Make Money From The Traffic Exchanges? Great question and even though it seems like one that is asked quite often, it rarely gets addressed. Why? Because there is so many answers and you will be the only person to decide what works for you. I'll give you my example and share with you how I would suggest to do it, it may not work for you that's why it's important to keep an open mind when other suggestions arise. First, I would get an auto responder account. You need some way to generate a mailing list. This is paramount and should be one of the most important things you focus on when starting out in the traffic exchanges. Second, you will need a splash page of some kind. Your auto responder code should be inserted into this splash page so that you can promote your site and generate potential leads through the autoresponder. People will see your splash page and either bookmark your site or fill out the form for more information. Third, you should get a logo of some kind. The two things that are very important in this business is to build your list but also build your brand. You can do this by adding a picture of your self and your name, or even better some kind of logo to go into your splash page. the more people see this, the better it is. That's why I emply a slow and steady approach to advertising in the exchanges. Keep your sites visible as much in 6 months as you do today. The more people see your brand, the better. What will get people to sign up for your autoresponder? That's the million dollar question. A free download, a short e-course, but most importantly it needs to be unique to you. You are the reason people will sign up, so you need to find a reason to make them want more information. This is the biggest challenge online but if you have a solid network of people from online forums you can bounce ideas off them to get you a head start.
Program Review - Deep Sea HitsI reviewed Deep Sea hits in November of 2004 in Issue 68 and gave it 4.5 out of 5.0. This week, I'm bumping it up to 5.0. Yes, I'm reviewing this program again because it's nothing like it was when it first launched. Remember what Traffic Splash did last year? Deep Sea Hits is this year's Traffic Splash. The program looks and feels amazing. The Neptune Challenge is great fun and the entire system just looks like a million bucks. Traffic flow, responsive ownership, active members and a kick butt design. This is one great looking program and even if it's almost 4 years old, this goes to show you that you can teach an old dog new tricks. A must join! Overall Rating: 5.0 Mouse Clicks (Rating out of 5.0) Have a look at Deep Sea Hits by clicking the link! Things That Make You Go...Hmmm? (A 'Different' Look at the Industry!)
