Customer service. What do those two little words have to do with running and participating in various online programs. There has been quite a few ‘talks’ about this topic recently in Net Marketing Forum and it looks to me like the times are changing.

The old term used to be that the customer is always right. That is up for debate. Personally I think we should go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to treating customers well but sometimes it’s best if customer and owner go their separate ways.

Far too many times I have seen contact requests where some folks are very abusive to my support staff, and should I as an owner ‘say they are right always’? Or should I just thank them for their business and time with my programs and let them move on?

There is a fine line and it’s up to both ownership and customer base to treat each other with the utmost respect. As a customer, I love being treated well. It builds loyalty and I am very happy to pay my monthly fees every month to these programs. As an owner, I know how I like to be treated, so I project that same level to my customers day in and day out.

Have a great week and happy surfing!

The News

- Big claims from Test Hoopla this week. When you log into the members area and check out the Hit Exchange Report, you see this ‘warning’;

All but a handful of exchanges have been cleared, and we’re taking a closer look at the others. In the last 60 days, data collected from StartXchange and MagnifyTraffic have been suspicious. There is great reason to believe the owners are attempting to manipulate our numbers in order to influence their ranking in the Hit Exchange Report.

- Traffic Era is about to open it’s marketplace and so far after a few weeks online the newest addition to the industry has been a huge success with it’s members. Results for me haven’t been what I thought they would be and that I think is because there are ‘teams’ that surf 24 hours a day and never look at the pages, just try to get big rankings. Ahhh what people will do for these tokens is amazing lol.

- Stephen Ayer and Bobby Ivie have combined forces to create Roundup Marketing Group, LLC. The dynamic duo now manage Traffic Roundup and Funny Farm Traffic. This is great news for all their members as both owners have been managing these programs with the greatest of care for years now. Actually Funny Farm turned 4 years old this week, so congratulations is in order across the board.

- Splash Page Hall of Fame – Traffic At The Races new promo page is a bit long but wow, is it funny. Another amazing creation from one of the best splash page designer on the net!

Question: Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, SWAT Traffic and Click Crazey are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. (But we all know how great they are anyways lol)

Deep Thoughts – Jon’s Weekly Rambling

Jon Olson Isn’t Very Sexy…

I was just in a seminar today and was amazed at the effort people put into promoting programs…Most of these people did not own the program, so what was the reason that they seemed to go above and beyond when it came to marketing and advertising something they did not own.

Was it the ownership of the program? Was it the design of the system? Was it perhaps the general feeling around the industry about said program? Yes on all accounts, but the biggest reason I think is commissions.

I don’t offer commissions on any traffic exchange I own, and Affiliate Funnel is the only program that does have commissions in the ‘Jon Olson’ world. There’s my answer. I’m not sexy enough to be on everyone’s ‘must promote’ program list.

Is there other reasons? Perhaps. I mean people either appreciate my work, or detest it. I cannot please everyone and I try to do the best I possibly can each and every day but more and more, I think the fact that I don’t offer commissions has really hurt my exposure into the market place.

I have amazing members and some of the best people in the world have spread the word about my programs, but maybe, just maybe I can get more exposure if I do start to offer commissions.

Hmmm, it should prove to be a ’sexy’ 2008….

Program Review – Surfing For Success

O.k., first let me explain to everyone that this program right here will not make you millions overnight but it could very well be one of the most important additions to the traffic exchange industry in quite a few years.

Reason? It adds organization of mass chaos. That mass chaos being trying to surf the hundreds of traffic exchanges out there. yes, Darrell Dean’s Surfing Calculator is a great way to plan and structure all your surfing efforts and is so simple, it’s brilliant.

Simply input data on how many page views you want, how much time you can surf every day and how many exchanges at once and presto, out pops a detailed surfing schedule you can post by your computer, print out and look at daily.

This is another must join program for anyone wanting to add a solid game plan to their daily surfing.

Jon’s Rating of Surfing For Success – 5.0 out of 5.0

Things That Make You Go Hmmm…

- The prices for Captain memberships are raising at S.W.A.T. Traffic. After more than a year, it’s time to take S.W.A.T. to the next level so get ready for some major promotions very soon.

- Has anyone checked out Affiliate Funnel recently?

- Oh how sweet was Super Bowl? 18-1 New England…18-1.
