Issue 211 - Rich Taylor Launches Traffic Asylum
Author: The T.E. GuyThis is kind of a short story but there is a reason for it. When I first started in traffic exchanges, I was introduced to a program called MPAM. This was the famous ‘Get 10,000 hits to your site a day for free’ marketing system that became one of the mainstays in early traffic exchange history.
I met so many great people through my experience with the program but one guy in particular became not only a great friend but one of my mentor’s in this business. To be brutally honest, I owe a ton to this guy and he is one of the reasons I focused so much on the traffic exchanges.
His name is Rich Taylor, and today marks something very special in his career as well as the industry as a whole. You see, Rich has been involved with these programs since day one. In fact, he started Traffic Roundup, Click Crazey and a host of other successful programs and today he’s at it again.
Traffic Asylum is Rich’s brand new traffic exchange and I’m honored to be on board to help him launch it. It’s a great day for traffic exchanges and I wanted to wish Rich nothing but success with this new launch.
Thanks again Rich, for everything you have done. Not only for me, but for the entire industry! Be sure to check out Traffic Asylum and support Mr. Taylor on his latest endeavor!

The News
- Want to win $1000? Traffic Wonderland is giving away $1000 to it’s top 5 referrers during it’s new contest. This 7 week old exchange is already making big waves and the new cash giveaway is no different. There is still only 1700 members in this program so it’s a great time to join and promote it for your chance to win.
- Wolf Surfer is one of the biggest traffic exchanges on the net and unfortunately, it hit a road block the past few years. Poor management almost destroyed this gem of an exchange, but no need to worry. Be sure to check out the new design, script and owner behind Wolf. It’ll make you roar, pardon the pun! LOL
- Remember all that talk about 5 second timers last week? Well it looks like someone was reading your posts to HEN. Traffic Splash actually raised their timer last weekend in a surprise move. This program has always had a lower timer so it was quite a shock to see it raised over the weekend. Kudos to the Dolphin team for making this bold move.
- Congratulations to ‘Zo’ for winning last week’s copy of Hits, Clicks and Misses. Want to win your own copy of the best selling traffic exchange book on Amazon.com (actually, it’s the only published book about T.E.’s on the planet), simply post a comment about this week’s issue of HEN!
- Splash Page Hall of Fame - Traffic Asylum is going to be fun! Just one look at this creepy, yet attention grabbing, splash page and you’ll see why!

2. Traffic Swarm
3. TS 25
4. Traffic Bunnies

Question: Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, SWAT Traffic and Click Crazey are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. (But we all know how great they are anyways lol)

Deep Thoughts - Jon’s Weekly Rambling
We Want Results…Kinda…
With all the talk recently about which ranking service should be considered the ‘gospel’ of the best traffic exchanges online, one thing remains a constant. The importance of tracking your own results.
I have been tracking the traffic exchanges for over 5 years now and it’s something that has helped me in so many ways. It tells me which programs are delivering the hits. It tells me how many people need to see my page before I get a new subscriber. It shows me the most active days of the week. It tells me so much and this is useful information I use to get the most from these programs.
However, there is something tracking cannot tell you and this is a golden nugget that has helped me build my businesses using these programs. You need to keep your site in front of people in the more active programs. This is critical. So why you may not get immediate results according to your tracking, keeping your site in rotation at a very active and larger traffic exchange will help you in the long run.
I call it traffic exchange brand awareness, where you want your site seen as much in 6 months as you do today. And having this in mind when you are starting a campaign is something your competition will not.
So do I track my results? Absolutely. But I also know the importance of keeping your site visible in the active traffic exchanges for the long run. The results may not be there right away, but they will increase simply because of the sheer activity and size of the membership.

WOW..hey Jon,
nearly fell of my seat….and thanks!
Great issue this week, Jon.
Congrats to Rich Taylor too
Brand awareness is how large companies like McDonald’s are able to consistently make profits every year. By keeping their product in front of their potential customers year in and year out they keep building upon their already very large customer base. Keeping your company identifiable logos and branding in front of your target audience are strong driving forces in influencing customer behavior because it shows stability and trust. Over the long haul and that you are not just some “fly-by-night” operation.
Thanks Zo, if you can email me your mailing address, I’ll ship the book out to you this week.
The brand awareness also works for individuals. I want every single surfer on all major traffic exchanges to see my ‘friendly’ face every single day…..24 hours a day. People get to know you….the individual. Guess what programs may come and go, but I never leave
Cheers!
Tony Tezak
This is the first issue of HEN that I have read, and definitely not the last! Kudo’s, I like it, thanks! More TE owners should read this e-zine.
Agreed on timers too short and the industry is changing away from timers too long. Where is the perfect middle ground?
Please watch for the launch of the Max family manual (only) TE in May which will be Max My Hits. Lots of free sign-up hits to the first in.
Max Family
Yes, the brand awareness is when people remember you back from years ago and join your programs because they “know” you.
Jon, to say that Rich Taylor “started Traffic Roundup” is a bit of a stretch.
Traffic Roundup was my (Stephen Ayer’s) idea, the name the concept, finding the script and designer, etc. Rich did help at the beginning but his involvement was minimal and lasted only a couple months.
I wish Rich the best with his new exchange.
Thanks Jon for the updates on Mr. Taylor.
Stephen, Rich was your partner when you started Roundup. Concept or no concept, you guys both started it. A few of us have been there since day one and remember it from the MPAM forums.
Fascinating stuff as always. I drifted away from Traffic Exchanges but just recently have learnt a lot more about how and why they work through forums and sites such as this and as a result I am using them more - and getting results. So keep the information coming!
Kind regards
Keith
It is going to be interesting where rich takes traffic asylum. I will be watching and waiting
