Issue 241 – Coffee Mugs, Surveys & N.G.S.
Author: Jon OlsonI sent a note the other day to the readership about a little thread we have going in Net Marketing Forum. Essentially, I’m trying to get the entire industry’s input on what they feel were the best and worst moments of 2008. You can check out what people have said and have your say here as well!
It’s amazing to see the responses, but quite a few recurring themes are surfacing. Here’s a few tidbit I have discovered so far from people’s input…Traffic Era was a big launch, Affiliate Funnel is the best new service for T.E.’s, Paul Kinder is respected by all, Hit Safari’s LJ script move is the biggest ‘hmmmm’ of the year, Traffic Gold Rush had a great launch, hover surfing is still popular and so much more….
Please do pop over to NMF and give us your feedback. The top answers in the survey will be included in my year in review issue of Hit Exchange News in a few weeks. This is a great way for the surfers to decide what the best and worse moments of 2008 were in the traffic exchange industry!
Thank you very much for being a reader of Hit Exchange News and have a wonderful week!

The News
- Blue Surf passed 8000 members this past week and that is a wonderful milestone for one of the most unique traffic exchanges online. In the days of commercial scripts, something like Blue Surf which is 100% custom scripting is a welcomed addition. Great stuff Scott!!!
- Every now and then, something very cool flies under the radar…Free Traffic World is not a new program and actually has over 4000 members. Never heard of it? Well they just started a $500 referral contest that is taking place right now. Something tells me that 4000 membership number is about to get higher, real quick.
- Be sure vote today for your favorite traffic exchanges at Affiliate Funnel’s Surfer’s Choice ranker. This has quickly become the most popular ranking service on the net as the surfer’s are finally getting their say. Combined with the stats to back it up and our exclusive ‘new members joining’ statistic, you can see which exchanges are showing and proving, each and every week!
- Want to win your own copy of the best selling traffic exchange book on Amazon.com, Hits, Clicks and Misses, (actually, it’s the only published book about T.E.’s on the planet), simply post a comment about this week’s issue of HEN! Congratulations to ‘Alan’ for winning last week. Be sure to send your mailing address to me so that I can ship you a copy (hitexchangenews at yahoo dot com)!
- Splash Page Hall of Fame – This splash / squeeze page from Traffic Splash is very unique as it’s a traffic exchange splash page where viewers can sign up directly to the program from the splash. Another original from Splash! Note: Why do I focus on splash pages every week? Simple, you MUST be using them in the traffic exchanges to get results. Get a custom made splash page by clicking here!

Question: Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, SWAT Traffic and Click Crazey are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. (But we all know how great they are anyways lol)

Deep Thoughts – Jon’s Weekly Rambling
So I’m Trying Something Different…
I own this program called I Love Hits and it’s a decent sized traffic exchange. Here is something of note, this thing is an LJ Script. Yup, the dreaded ‘commercial cookie cutter’ script that everyone seems to complain about. Strip away the membership numbers, fancy design and all I Love Hits is, a commercial LJ Script.
So as an owner of a dreaded ‘cookie cutter’ I always try to do things differently. This year I introduced the Profile Pages in an effort to add more Web 2.0 into I Love Hits and while it never did take off like I thought it would, I still see massive potential there.
So 2008 moves on and I added something new this past month, called the E-Mail Prize Links. Pretty neat feature really, you get an update from I Love Hits in your inbox, click a link and win prizes. Anything from credits, impressions, to coffee mugs, what you win could be a host of awards.
I’m really making an effort now though on the ‘coffee mug’. So being a ‘cookie cutter’ script owner, I always need to add new stuff and thus begins my weekly ‘Coffee Mug’ giveaway. Each and every week in I Love Hits will be giving away an ILH Coffee Mug to a few lucky members who click those E-Mail Prize Links in the emails.
So be on the look out for e-mails from I love Hits for your chance of winning a mug, or some credits, or some books, or some….Who knows?

Things That Make You Go Hmmm…
- Over 40 people in the SWAT seminar last night, over 60 in the Affiliate Funnel seminar last weekend. Ahhhh, surfers are starting to see the huge benefits of attending online seminars!
- Hiya Smiley! *hugs*
- Tweet me! Tweet me! (O.K. I’m going to start offering money to add me LOL)

Hey Jon,
I don’t know if it is that I am getting the newsletter late or what but I always get the “Sorry your not a winner” or some such thing when I click the ILH email prize links.
Just to let you know.
Mike
Guess I need to unfollow you so I can get paid. Love getting your cash
Yo Jon. I saw your NMF post when you first put it up. Didn’t respond because I don’t feel qualified–I haven’t been in this long enough.
I do agree with the Hit Safari thing though. That was just dumb.
Thanks for your post.
Great idea, Jon, to have this survey about different aspects of the TEs. It is interesting to read the different opinions.
Hey Jon……..
Just wanted to say I love Hit Exchange News….have always held the idea that TE’s were a waste of time and money…….starting to rethink that position….keep up the great imput!!
I think the prize links are really cool. I’ve already won a bunch of text links. Thanks Jon!
