Issue 261 – Not Earning From Your T.E.? Shut It Down!
“If your traffic exchange doesn’t generate at least $250 a week, shut it down!”
I made that comment in a post at Net Marketing Forum only a few minutes before I started to write this week’s issue of H.E.N. and well, I opened my mouth and I’m sure this will generate some hate mail…
Let me EXPLAIN myself here…
1) I completely stand by this. Folks, if you own or are thinking of owning a traffic exchange, the thing needs to generate income. 35 dollars a day is not that big a target to hit, especially if you are running your program properly.
2) This should be the goal (a very small target to hit) for any traffic exchange that is starting up or a few months old. Here comes the REAL hate mail now….If your exchange is 6 months old and NOT at 35 bucks a day, it’s time to shut it down.
Why?
Here’s the kicker, that effort you are putting into growing your exchange that isn’t making a profit for you could be spent on list building that will get you results. Some of the most successful traffic exchange owners on the planet, built their lists FIRST and then started a traffic exchange. You can do the same thing!
This isn’t meant to be mean, it’s meant to be a wake up call. The amount of poorly run programs is astronomical these days and most of the bad ones just seem to stay online and not much else, they rarely pay commissions, they never answer support questions, they are never promoted, they just exist….
Time to shut them down folks, if they aren’t making the bacon for you, invest in something more profitable!
Thank you very much for being a reader of Hit Exchange News and have a wonderful week!

The News
- Traffic Dealer is a week old now and had a pretty decent launch. While the launch was good, the real test now will be if the surfers support the new and original idea of Dealer. I have to applaud though, anything ‘new and unique’ is always welcomed in the traffic exchange world!
- $1500 in Cash prizes? That’s what is being awarded during the latest joint contest from JetStream Traffic, Traffic Punk, Traffic at the Races and Traffic Gold Rush! My only concern is that the contest lasts 8 weeks, I would have loved to see this short and powerful. Regardless, 4 great programs working together is another welcomed sign for the industry!
- Speaking of Traffic At The Races, big news from that camp this week as they have now introduced commissions for all members. That’s right, you now can make money from the ‘horses’ and not by gambling! Way to go Duck Man!
- Cast your vote today for your favorite traffic exchanges at Affiliate Funnel’s Surfer’s Choice ranker. This is YOUR voice and YOUR opinion on what traffic exchanges you feel are the best in the business. Be sure to vote every day and get your opinion heard!
- Splash Page Hall of Fame – Paul Kinder is a machine! Traffic Splash’ latest ‘Dollar Per Referral’ promotion is sure to generate a lot of attention, especially with this new splash page! Note: Why do I focus on splash pages every week? Simple, you MUST be using them in the traffic exchanges to get results. Get a custom made splash page by clicking here!

Question: Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. (But we all know how great they are anyways lol)

Deep Thoughts – Jon’s Weekly Rambling
The Achilles Heel of Online Business
This is a rant. So please be warned, I may seem a little more ‘ticked’ than usual. This has to do with online business. I love it. I wouldn’t do anything else, ever. It’s my passion, more specifically the traffic exchanges are my absolute passion.
But I’ve got beef! And it has to do with ‘customers’ running to Pay Pal and filing disputes at the drop of a dime. ENOUGH! If you want your money back, ask for it. Don’t run to Pay Pal and say ‘the product wasn’t what was advertised’ or ‘I didn’t like it’ or my favorite ‘I never agreed to pay a subscription (even though I pressed ‘pay subscription’)'…
Folks, please understand, I’m not debating whether or not you should file disputes on fraudulent sellers and merchandise, but when someone has over 4000 transactions and has had a Pay Pal account since 2001, just ask them for the money back…No need to run and falsely accuse people of ‘stealing’ your money because you did not read the payment terms you agreed to.
Quality programs and quality owners aren’t going anywhere, and they would rather you were happy then pocketing the 7 bucks for your subscription. We want customer satisfaction to be our primary concern, and we need your help. Let us WORK with you if you have any problems with our services…
I’m just pleading now…No more running to Pay Pal and filing disputes.

Things That Make You Go Hmmm…

I couldn’t agree with you more Jon on the issue of PayPal disputes.
I’ve had customers file disputes right after purchasing something on PayPal from my exchange without ever taking the time to talk to me or my staff first.
The issue of traffic exchanges that aren’t doing anything for the owner or the members has been a big issue for me too.
The Traffic Houses and LinkCrews of the world just need to go away. I support you in calling these guys out. I’m also not for supporting a program that has ownership that has a history of just walking away and leaving a program behind. Part of the reason I didn’t stand behind Traffic Dealer…
Mike Coursey
Great advice about would-be TE owners. If you can’t build a list, how do you intend to be a successful traffic exchange?
And although I didn’t end up promoting Traffic Dealer, I gotta say I personally love the concept. If I was still actively surfing, that’s one of the few places I would actually WANT to surf in terms of it being fun.
Woot! Splash Of The Week, cheers dude. Glad ya liked it.
All credit to the super cool black hatted guy – I just had the idea – it was Jamison made it happen. Superb work as ever.
Happy Splashing!
“The Machine”
PS LOL poor businesses letting down customers is a pet hate of mine so I can’t resist a comment…
Wonder how many will take action on that wake up call. Nowhere near enough I’ll bet. tbh I think $250 a week is too low.
I would also add that money HAS to be reinvested to grow your business. Otherwise you ain’t bringing in enough new members to provide a viable service.
Without “new blood” seeing their sites they’re highly unlikely to get good results over any length of time. That is a disservice to your members.
Owners have a responsibility to help provide good results. Owners can’t make it so, customers have to advertise well, but owners can provide the right environment to make it possible.
I think if an owner can’t or won’t try to provide that environment they should cut their losses for their own benefit, and for their members!
Hi Traffic exchange guy ?!!!
What its this ?
354 day ?!! your comment shows your fear about your Traffic Exchange cartel!
First I want make some introduce. I am Paulo , from Portugal (so sorry about my English isn’t very good), admin of beauty-traffic.com, Master-traffic.com and police-traffic.com.
Your Comment is ridiculous. And have one only propose, try to close the new Traffic exchanges !
There are many, thousands of new traffic exchanges.
Some of them are very good and with very potentials.
Most of them, much more than you are own and your friends,
but you want all for you!
Traffic exchange news ! (what is this ?) only advertise what you want !
The popular Tes, only advertise what they want, make their members clicking and clicking for nothing.
The members are the same, so the final result it’s the same. Money for your pockets.
The members receive thousands of mails about new products, new ways of advertise, but only one propose.
Promote the cartel of traffic exchanges!
Your sites and hit exchanges news, are scams sites. They don’t give nothing, and only promote what they want.
I understand, it’s a good move to keep the popular TE the most profitable and the leader of market.
But you are exaggerating !
I know that you will not approve this comment but I will continue spreading the word
Paulo
Hi Paulo, unfortunately I do approve all comments, good or bad…So you wont be able to run and tell people I didn’t let you speak your mind.
Not sure what I have done to upset you, and especially the libel comments about my sites being scam sites. That was unwarranted.
And ummmm, yes of course the site promotes what I want. It’s my site. However I try to run a very steady ship and have since 2003.
Stop being so bloody indignant about it Paulo. And stop talking about cartels and scams.
There is only one guy responsible for your success and that is YOU.
Now quit whining and go prove Jon wrong and build your business.
