Systems!
We all need systems especially online. Systems allow us to manage our day, perform our duties and get things accomplished much easier. What kind of system are you using for your traffic exchange advertising?
Are you surfing for an hour a day? Which traffic exchanges are you using? Do you have a goal written down that you aim for every day? Which browser do you use and do you ‘group’ your favorite exchanges?
These are just a few of the questions you need to ask yourself when you are setting up your ‘surfing system’. One of the major reasons people fail online is that they lack focus (more on that below) but before even focusing, they do not have a system in place that will help them reach their goals.
Plan your day!
Don’t just sit in front of your computer and click. That can get frustrating especially if you don’t see results right away. Chip away at your goals, for example you want to build your list, have you posted to your blog today? Did you ask a few questions in a forum to get your name out there? Did you attend an online seminar this week? Is your squeeze page following the ‘A.C.A.’ model?
All these small steps add up and you get into a routine that makes you more productive, allows you to focus on other aspects of your business, and gets you results. You do not need 25 new subscribers in one day to be ‘successful’, but by adding a system or two to how you work, you are on your way!

What’s Holding You back?
“Follow this plan and you’ll be rich in 30 days….”
“I used to flip burgers, now I’m making loads of cash online…”
The claims are everywhere. Especially if you are surfing the traffic exchanges for any amount of time, you will see that our senses are bombarded with claims of income, stress free living, and *gasp* the almighty downline of dreams.
It begs the question, if there are so many of these ‘get rich’ plans online, how come most of us struggle to make ends meet?
Here’s my opinion and thought on it, I might be completely out to lunch here but I am speaking from experience only. We lack focus!
Focus was my favorite word a few years back, when I had my first ‘ah ha’ moment online. You see, I was involved in everything. From get rich quick plans, to downline builders, to *another gasp* pro only traffic exchanges, and everything in between. It wasn’t until I focuses on my list building and concentrated 100% on THAT did I start to see results.
How did I ‘do it’? Simple, I got rid of everything I didn’t need. Even though I purchased an upgrade at GDI (yes, I was once a member), it had nothing to do with my game plan and my focus. The focus was build my list and become THE traffic exchange expert, and well, GDI just didn’t fall in line with my game plan. So *poof* I got rid of my membership there.
Now that’s just an example, if something doesn’t fit with your goals, you should not spend a lot of energy and time on it. Focus you efforts on one or two things. I would recommend one thing and of course, it’s no secret I’m a fan of list building first and foremost.
One of the biggest problems online is ‘slot machine marketing’ and even though I have not touched on this topic for a few years, it’s important to stop pulling the slot machine and dumping money into something that well, isn’t designed for you to make money.
Build your list, focus on YOU and you will not be held back anymore!

Your are pretty right about that. Focus Is the work that should drive us all on the internet if we want to reach any form of
success. An It is Hard to do because we get so distracted all the time. And once you have the list, what to promote? that is the other question everybody is tempted to ask and I think that it is where all the distraction come from… everybody would like to trow the miracle program at the list and sit back but what is it ? might be a subject for one more HEN even if you probably talked about it already and also tried with the pizza plan … food for the brain …

Hi Jon, 100% correct with the focus comments. I think we have all been there were we try to promote 3, 4 , 5 … or 10 things and get no where. I have been spending my time this year promoting just 1 program and have over 2000 ppl join with over 100 upgraded members which now generates enough affiliate commissions to cover all my TE membership upgrades (I use around 20 TE’s). I know when I surf that using my own splash pages ppl sign up so I am not wasting my time. This has taken about 9 months to get to this point. Keep up the great work with HEN. Cheers Martin
Great news letter Jon.I diagree with you on the comms issues you said ”
Commissions are a bonus” I don,t see it like that at all whilst results are off course important from the exchange good comms can be earnt from using a good portfolio of comm paying exchanges and are very important and if it was not for them paying comms Iam sure there memberships would be greatly reduced.

Don’t forget to take the system one step further. If you ever want to leverage your business to true autopilot, so that others are doing the vast majority, if not all, of the work, you need to try to hook up with each and every downline member or mailing list subscriber you get. And you need to teach them (well, the precious few who actually show interest in it, at least) how to do exactly the same thing.

Steve, food for thought, traffic exchanges existed and grew to what they are today without a single commission earned.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love commissions and smile when I get a payment, however I feel the focus has shifted from result based advertising to ‘how much can I earn by using said TE’ based advertising.
It’s all about focus *eeeek, that word again today lol* Focus on the traffic, the results…All else will come naturally.
