Question: Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits and SWAT Traffic are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. (But we all know how great they are anyways lol)

Deep Thoughts – Jon’s Weekly Ramblings
I’m about fed up with aWeber….
This company started out in my good books with sending me a personal welcome letter, providing stellar auto responder services and some great features.
Since then though, it’s been nothing but annoying ‘emails’ and the occasional delayed delivery times. Here’s the scoop, and I’m not just ranting about this for the sake of ranting, it’s just become quite a hassle.
I provide users with tutorials in I Love Hits about how to properly use traffic exchanges. One of my tips is teaching new members to practice list building and well, building their lists using an email capture code. Remember folks, the only place I ‘promote’ this is in my members area…
Well aWeber doesn’t like that apparently, so for the past YEAR they continue to send this email to me…
Dear Jon Olson,
Our logs indicate that you have configured an automatic traffic
generating service to direct visitors to your AWeber affiliate
link. Unfortunately, these services generally only send untargeted,
massively large quantities of traffic that generate nothing more
than extra load on our web servers and additional costs. Please
see that your affiliate link is disconnected from this traffic
generating service immediately.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Please see our affiliate control panel for better methods of
generating traffic that will actually be interested in
purchasing things.
Same email, every day practically. Guess they don’t want or like us good ol’ untargeted traffic folks…
Here’s the funniest bit, they also keep sending me decent affiliate checks every month. So I have to as myself, why do I continue to give these people my business?
I’ll tell you what though, programs like Get Response, iContact and Traffic Wave are looking mighty good these days.
What’s your favorite auto responder service? Give me your list and I’d love to shop around. I can’t wait to hear your input on this….

Hey Jon,
I’ve actually signed on with Trafffic Wave and am learning the ropes over there.
I was an Aweber customer for years then they just up and blocked my account without so much as a real explanation. (Though I think it was I didn’t “upgrade” to their newer tracking service system rather than keeping the old rates).
Anyway, TrafficWave seems feature rich and rather intuitive. So I am getting the hang of it pretty quickly. And it is the best dollar value for an autoresponder in the business.

Hi Jon.
I am a TrafficWave affiliate and customer, I have NO problems recommending it.
It’s also very easy to use and the price can’t be beat for the quality services it provides.
Congrats on TE Live!

Hey Jon,
I used to use Aweber as well but I was never really happy with it. I’ve been with Get Response for some time now and love it. Very dependable and easy to use for us non-techy types.

Jon,
It was great to listen to your dad last week at the AF conference. He’s such an intelligent man and eloquent writer.

Hi Jon,
I just started using a brand new marketing tools website and the autoresponder provided is very close to Aweber’s sending quality rates. I can guarantee that the price can’t be beat. Let me know if you would like information.
I’ve been using iContact for the past 2 years DESPITE pressure from the industry (in the form of complete lack of support for them in aany program that supports autoresponder integration) and I’m very happy with them.
Usually very fast send time.
Excellent tracking (something I loved since day 1 when I was just promoting my dedicated server book, waaaaay [read: 2-3 months
] before I discovered the TE industry )
Support for custom fields which I used for private tracking info at first, and later “borrowed” cindy & soren’s idea for tracking member/affiliate data in my links.
I can’t really know how well delivery rates are, but they seem really good.
My favorite part is an API which your programmers can use to access your account and “do” things from your own website (I use this to power membership registration to one of my programs, and it’s AWESOME)
It’s not perfect – I’ve had issues in the past, BIG issues, like my autoresponder series stopping for my entire subscriber base to-date when I made some change, as a classic example of a big issue (200 subscribers just stopped getting the AR emails, altough they continued to get individual email broadcasts that I sent)
Their tech support is occasionally really slow to answer (but they DO try, and I’m usually as happy with them as I can expect to be from any company’s support team)
And they’re not overly cheap either…
But overall, I’m very happy with them. Interested parties can find my affiliate link on my blog (click on my name above)
GetResponse has always been #1 in my book. They went through some changes a few months back… which was tough… but they listened when I suggested things… and now they’re actually in the program!
In the 2 yrs I’ve been with them… there’s only been once that my email hasn’t gone out on time. And.. their customer service is 2nd to none.
Sunny!
I stopped using Aweber over a year ago. Was not satisfied at all. Since I like to be deifferent I started expermenting with different Autoresponders. The ones you mentioned are all good but good isn’t what I was looking for. I wanted something spectacular. After careful reviews, reading many articles and testing the more popular AR’s I came across one that rather surprised me and fell into love with it. Surprisingly it is from a not so popular old time traffic generating program Adlandpro That I didn’t even know was still around. Hadn’t heard of them in about 8 years. They charge a resonable $14.95 per month for their basic service and $24.95 for the gold membership that pays a 30% affiliate commission as well. I highly recommend it. Check it out at: http://responders.adlandpro.com/
I think you will be plesently surprised Jon!
Thanks for the feedback everyone. It’s been a tough decision to ‘change’ autoresponders but I think I’m about to do it….
Here goes nothing…LOL
