Let’s Show The World…That Traffic Exchanges Do Care
This is something I have been trying to get started for at least a year. A few of us in the ‘Owner’s Forum’ at Net Marketing Forum thought it would be a great idea but I don’t think any of us found the perfect platform. There has been loads of charity sites on the internet but the one I found recently, I think, everyone can get behind…
Traffic Exchanges Care is a new charity where I’m calling all traffic exchange owners, surfers and fans around the internet to help with. What is the charity? Clean drinking water! The charity is hosted by an organization called My Charity Water and it’s an amazing story of how just a few people gave up their ‘birthday presents’ and donated the cash they go to help bring clean drinking water around the world.
It really hits home but more importantly I feel it’s something everyone in this business can get behind. All money goes directly to help fund wells in developing countries and we have set the target for only $5000. Let’s show the world that traffic exchanges do care and with our charity we will be able to help 250 people get clean drinking water!
I encourage you to spread the word, Tweet, like this on Facebook and let your members know about it if you own a traffic exchange. This is just the first campaign but if we reach the target in 3 months, hopefully we can continue this charity and help some people around the world!

That is a really awesome idea Jon. I’ll definitely include it in a member mail this week!
What a wonderful idea Jon. I don’t own a Traffic Exchange, just a regular surfer, but I can and will be making up a splash page for it. And donating of course.
Jon,
I agree with you in the Idea Traffic Exchanges Should Do more to Show They Do Care.
BUT The First It Is NOT…. Ablaze For A cure Has been Running for over 2 Years Now Fights Cancer by adding awareness and Financial means to not Just one cancer But All.
The Idea Works Like A traffic Exchange every 3 Months Ablaze For A Cure Donates Money to A new Cancer and New Organization.
This Was Started By Myself and Ablaze With Traffic and Surf Cash. Breed traffic And Others Have Helped Us along the Way. All good hearted traffic Exchanges.
I just thought I would Comment on this Topic As I have been donating Money And Time Since I bought Ablaze With Traffic just over 2 Years ago. I lost my mother to cancer in August 2005 My 2 younger brothers have helped me with the focus and drive My younger brother who was (9) when we lost our mom has lived with me since that day. My birthday two Years ago I had My brother and daughter Buy toys Instead of presents for me. we gave them to A better way ( a great fantastic organization) In Berkley California we have some cool Photos on Face Book.
I hope you understand This Cause Means the World to Us and we have Been doing this for over two years making Us the First Charity Promoted and Built by Joint Traffic exchanges.
James Dias Ablaze For A Cure
James – I am sorry to hear about your loss. I think everyone around the world has been hurt by that horrible disease.
Hey, if you want to call yours the first ever joint traffic exchange charity, that’s fine with me. The main thing is that we create awareness for all these causes. =)
Thank you all who have donated. We are more than 10% to our goal now…Let’s keep it going!
Jon,
Your a stand up Guy, Who would have thought that Traffic Exchanges would be making a difference? Well…. US. right?
It the goal to make a difference that we both share. I only hope to do for Cancer, what your doing for your project. I hope that one day soon we could work on a project together for the good of all mankind.
Thank you again for noticing a small exchange, With Huge goals and Ablaze For A Cure.
James Dias
Thanks James, I donated a few bucks to your cause too. When more of this stuff happens in the industry, we can all make a difference.
I think this is great. You see charities in the exchanges, but most of us are generally a) skeptical of the integrity of the person(s) behind it; b) trying to make money and not thinking about charity. I hope this brings a new awareness into the exchanges. Together, we can all do a lot. If we all do our little part, great change can take place. Who knows, we might all wake up one day to find great change has happened to us; love and giving bring peace to our inner-selves.
Jon, hit me up if you want to rap and/or brainstorm sometime. The more heads and the more hearts that connect, the greater the chances more people can be helped. There are so many great causes out there, and so many great people here in the exchanges.

Nice job on finding such a great cause, Jon! My hats off to you!
My wife and I frequently donate to World Vision which does a similar water project. It’s surprising how rare fresh water really is… I had thought of something similar myself, just never took the time to put it together. Still may here in the future as you’ve said we can’t do enough. I will include a link in my next email to this post at HEN, and scrape together some funds for this project myself.
I absolutely love the new look, by the way. Best ‘visual blog’ I have seen on the internet!

Hi Jon
Good on you for highlighting this cause and proposing to use the power of traffic exchanges to further it.
Having spent some time in developing countries, I can verify the tremendous impact that simple investments in quality water has.
Most surfers could afford to contribute say one month’s traffic exchange membership (say USD$20) and that would get the momentum going. Count me in.
Regards
Geoff Whitehouse
Geoff, thanks man. Fantastic post too. Yeah the amount of money people donate isn’t really what matters, it’s just that we do something. I will donate throughout the campaign to keep us going forward, and I’m so glad to see the positive impact this can potentially have. So grateful of everyone who is taking part in this!!!!
DA Thanks man, much appreciated. Yeah man, I don’t think there is ever enough good will that can be spread. This is so far above business in my opinion, it should be something we all support.
I will be looking forward to seeing some splash pages for this and will gladly put them on our te. James, Sorry to hear about your mother. I think everyone has loved ones that have or are affected by cancer and we have held many surf 4 a cure days. Susan Koman is one of our charities that members can donate to as they surf. I will definetly have to check out your te.
We are currently holding an event for NWF Gulf Restoration Fund.
Jon, having worked in a third world country I can say basic needs is great cause. I knew a missionary once that was angered at all of the money we spend on AIDS in Africa (an incurable disease which he did not see abating until many changed their lifestyles) but many people where he worked were dying of Malaria which has treatments and preventions such as nets and spraying but no one is spending money on that. Yes, I say we should support causes like these which may seem so simple but can actually save many lives.
Suzette
Thanks Suzette, ya I mean right now it says we have helped 39 people. That’s amazing stuff. We are going to help more but it’s a great start. Fantastic stuff, I really look forward to what is ahead with this campaign!
As for splash pages, if some of those savvy designers we have in the industry can help out and donate a splash or two, that would be fantastic.
I don’t really think we should send traffic to the main charity site, just because someone is donating their server space and I don’t want to use up bandwidth.
But any splash pages we get created, I’d gladly host thm for everyone to use and promote.
Hey Jon,
I made a splash… hope it was alright to post it here…

Thanks DA, for sure, please do post it.
Yes folks, I apologize for the lack of attention to this during the past few days, I’ve been working on moving FINALLY from Saskatoon to Edmonton.
I’m now all moved in and ready to push this further.
What an absolutely beautiful thing to do! Made a splash this morning and sent it to your email. Hope the moving is going well
