The pulse of the traffic exchange industry and the random ramblings of Jon Olson (that's me!)
I've been writing Hit Exchange News since 2003 and have been involved in the traffic exchanges for over a decade. Enjoy the 'news', and thank you so much for making this THE must-read traffic exchange blog on the internet!
If you have been coming to TE Live these past few weeks you would have heard me going on and on about how important people need to stick out from the crowd in this industry. It’s so critical for people to not just be ‘regular affiliates’ and be the leaders of tomorrow in the traffic exchange industry.
Here’s something I noticed yesterday that blew me away and I said to myself, these ladies are going to be such a huge force this year, it’s going to be awesome…
Hot Flash Hits did something that ANY traffic exchange could do but for some reason, a little bit of effort scares most owners away. So Cathy and Jolynn throw a Tweet out on Twitter and tell people that they have changed something about their surfing experience.
The contest was pretty simple but so smart…They tweeted that the first member to Tweet them back and tell them what they have changed would win 100 free credits.
So simple! So brilliant. So effective.
How much did this cost the ladies? Ummm nothing. Maybe 25 seconds to tweet the message and then a few minutes before a member ‘got it’ and bam….Instant interaction with the membership and such an effective ‘push / pull’ strategy.
I love it. I love it. I love it!!!!
Social works and these ladies showed how a little bit of creativity and a whole lot of heart can go a long way.
Want to stick out? Just watch what owners like Cathy and Jolynn are doing…
It’s the mission statement for TimTech (and myself personally as well) in 2012 to not stay the same this year. We are at a point in our careers where we believe average just does not cut it anymore. It’s something we talked about before 2011 was up and a concept we cannot stress enough as we begin the new year.
This isn’t some fancy dancy new year’s resolution. This is a commitment to improve ourselves across the board, every day for the rest of the year. We don’t want anyone in our community to fall victim to the ‘status quo’ either. Please understand, average SUCKS! Average means failing. Average means being background noise in a world where the mover’s and shakers in this business, stand up for something.
How can you stick out from the crowd in 2012?
Don’t be average!
While most people complain about not making money, why not find out HOW people are making money online and follow what they do? Learn from people that are actually DOING it, rather than the false prophets that seem to be everywhere in online business.
When people say surfing traffic exchanges is boring and not effective, find out how to be MEMORABLE in the surfing experience. Develop videos, create awesome designs and splash pages, don’t use standard affiliate pages!!
When people try to push the ‘brand new latest and greatest’ promotion down your throat, why not ask yourself how you can develop your own brand and own products that people will want to promote?
Don’t be average! Invest in your business, invest in YOURSELF and stick out from the crowd.
We are only two weeks into the new year and lots of cool things are in store for the TimTech world, we don’t know what the future will hold but we can guarantee this…We won’t be ‘taking it easy’ and doing the same old, same old…Average just isn’t in the game plan for 2012!
