The News

- Tim Linden has come up with a real winner this week. Tim started a group of Facebook all about Traffic Exchanges. This should prove to be quite large and it’s a great way to get your sleeves rolled up and network with other surfers and owners. Expect big things from this, especially if Tim keeps getting creative LOL

- Traffic Era celebrated it’s 1 year anniversary this past week with a decent 10 day contest where every day they are giving away new prizes and bonuses. Neat stuff, but it may fly under the radar…Imagine what would happen if Logiscape did some JV’s every now and then…

- Top Tier Traffic looks to have had quite a successful launch. With almost 7,000 members registered in about two weeks, you can see how this has the potential to be quite a big program. Been noticing a few server slow downs lately, but that should get fixed soon.

- Be sure vote today for your favorite traffic exchanges at Affiliate Funnel’s Surfer’s Choice ranker. This has quickly become the most popular ranking service on the net as the surfer’s are finally getting their say. Combined with the stats to back it up and our exclusive ‘new members joining’ statistic, you can see which exchanges are showing and proving, each and every week!

- Want to win your own copy of the best selling traffic exchange book on Amazon.com, Hits, Clicks and Misses, (actually, it’s the only published book about T.E.’s on the planet), simply post a comment about this week’s issue of HEN! Congratulations to ‘Sharon’ for winning last week. Be sure to send your mailing address to me so that I can ship you a copy (hitexchangenews at yahoo dot com)!

- Splash Page Hall of Fame – You know, Traffic Splash did something so powerful here…Can you tell what it is? Note: Why do I focus on splash pages every week? Simple, you MUST be using them in the traffic exchanges to get results. Get a custom made splash page by clicking here!

Question: Hey Jon, how come I Love Hits, SWAT Traffic and Click Crazey are never on the top 10 list? Since I own them, I feel it would be a conflict of interest to place it on any of my rankings. (But we all know how great they are anyways lol)

Deep Thoughts – Jon’s Weekly Rambling

How Do You Measure Results In The T.E.’s?
I’ve got two answers to this question and while they are completely different, the message is very important, results matter and matter the most when working with traffic exchanges.

Results can be measured by using an ad tracker of choice. It’s a simple process that does take a bit of elbow grease to get started but once it does, you’ll see how easy it is to set up. I create a tracked link, and name it ‘ILH’ for example if I wanted to track results from I Love Hits. This tells me how many hits I’m getting to the site I am promoting and also with some ad trackers out there, by placing certain code on your site, you can see how many people it takes to view your page before you get a subscriber, new sign up or sale.

That’s the ‘company’ answer to ‘How Do You Measure Traffic Exchange Results?’ Here’s the ‘Jon Olson-Does-Things-Differently-Answer’….

If you have read any of my articles in the past, you’ll know I’m a big fan of branding. So much so that I coined a little term for traffic exchanges called ‘T.E. Brand Awareness’. Essentially it works like this, get your site seen as much in 6 months that you are getting it seen today. Far too many times, people go head first into this business and never stick to it.

HOWEVER, people come back. It’s a proven fact that so many people try the exchanges out, give up after a month or so, and then resurface in half a year or more. Now the power of ‘T.E.B.A.’ is imagine that person seeing your site when they started surfing and when they make their come back…

So how does this measure results? It’s not a scientific answer at all, it’s as easy as getting your site seen as much as you can, as often as you can and for as long as you can. So I measure ‘results’ by how many times my site gets seen. The end result, is that my brand gets built. My name and business are seen and the results come in…Slow and steady.

Both methods work, and it’s completely up to you on how to measure your results, but remember, you must be focused on those results and always be looking on how to improve them.
