Sometimes I think I may complicate this entire traffic exchange industry. Sometimes I may forget one simple fact, we love downlines and we love to build referral teams. Yup, all the list building and personal branding is perfect and it’s the way I recommend that ANYONE builds an online business but there is something very special about seeing those emails come into your inbox….

And it usually doesn’t matter what program you refer people too, we go ‘ga-ga’ over those notifications. And rightfully so, as long as your back end marketing is in place. And this week, bam! Did we ever get the ‘back end marketing’ like nothing ever seen before.

- A huge and big big big congratulations goes to the team at Easy Hits 4 U for reaching a milestone only one other traffic exchange has ever reached. What Do You Want To Learn?

I’m back doing the weekly seminars at SWAT Traffic every Wednesday night. We’ve got a brand new flash room (good news for us MAC users) and a brand new ‘leash’ on seminar life. Last night we had a great turn out and I hope to keep it going…

But I need your help!

You see I’ve been doing these seminars for years now and well, I think I am losing things to talk about. Not that I can’t find things to chit chat about, heck we do a daily show on uStream and we always (almost always) find stuff to chit chat about. However I think I may forget some of the basic topics and not being them up enough. So what do you want to talk about? What topics would you like to see discussed?

To get the comments coming in, I will give a reader a lifetime upgrade at SWAT for your best ideas given for topics to learn about. List building, business building basics, proper splash page creation techniques, give me what YOU would like to talk about.

I will pick a winner in a few days and next week we’ll discuss that topic at Wednesday night’s seminar. Oh yeah, if you are a Captain member at SWAT Traffic, be sure to pop by throughout the day as well in the new chat room. We plan on hanging out there once again, something a lot of us did for years. Some of the best ideas and discussions can take place in that room and well, we’re really trying to bring back that creative environment.

- Wonder how many traffic exchange users are actually reading emails from owners these days…I mean all we seem to get in our inboxes now is ‘Jim Bob won 100 credits yesterday for surfing 100 sites’. Hmmm…

I made a post recently on the I Love Hits Blog and it detailed my friend Lynn McCutcheon’s recent success by *gulp* personal branding.

I’m not going to go over the points made in the post, but I did want to start this issue of Hit Exchange News with the BIG message in the article.

Action!

Lynn took action. And every single person who has ever built any kind of success online started by just that, starting. They didn’t wait for the stars to align. They didn’t wait to learn how to be the best PHP programmer. They didn’t take college courses on how to use Photoshop. They just took action.

It seems like a huge mountain when you are starting, trust me, I do remember. But the important thing is to take manageable small steps every day. You do not need to reinvent the wheel or come up with the cure for the common cold, you just need to be making decisions every day on how to grow your business.

Disclaimer: Don’t worry about messing things up. Some of the best lessons you can learn in business is to mess up early and as much as you can. Experience is the greatest teacher.

So today, what are you going to do to further your online business? I’ll tell you what, reading this blog is a great first step because I guarantee you, 95% of the other marketers in this industry won’t be reading it. But take it a step further, write a comment, click a link or two, ask questions, go to the forum, surf a few sites in the bracket surfing competition…Do things the other people in this business DON’T do.

The Fascination With Surfing For Dollars

I remember when I first started trying to make money online. I had no idea what a one time offer was. I never knew how to sell. I didn’t know the importance of networking. I was a blank slate. What I did know though is that I wanted to make real money in this business.

My first ‘check’ I got was from a program called All Advantage. It was for 32 bucks and I was hooked. I could not believe that companies actually paid me to surf the internet. And I tried them all from zWallet to Spedia, trust me, I was deep into the whole paid to surf industry. It’s how I discovered traffic exchanges and how I fell in love with them.

What I knew, is that 30 dollar checks for 3 months worth of work isn’t going to cut it. I needed to learn more and needed to develop a new plan on making money online. Yeah, the check was a nice bonus but it was just a taste. This was over a decade ago.

There is no longer any All Advantages or Desktop Dollars but now there are traffic exchanges like Easy Hits 4 U, that pay people to surf web sites. I have no problem with their business model, in fact I’m willing to bet Easy Hits 4 U introduces more people to the traffic exchange industry than any other program out there. However what I have concerns with is that people may think ‘that’s it’…

They surf for their 30 cents and poof, they are happy. They don’t know the HUGE potential they have by all that clicking. All the personal branding, all the potential list building opportunities they are passing by. Sure, some folks may not want more than a few extra dollars a month but wow, that seems like a lot of wasted effort.

I’m not going to change anything with this post. I know people will still surf for their dollars and that’s cool. I’m just throwing this out there, how about you learn how to build a list and brand the business you are promoting and make some real income online? The cash for surfing should always be just a bonus, at least I feel this way.
