The Badges Have Gone…Cashable
Here’s something I didn’t think I’d be doing a year ago…Now while I have never been a fan of cash for surfing, in fact I’m pretty sure I’ve called it the spawn of Satan before, something about business is that you have to adapt. TimTech prides itself on being ‘in touch’ with surfers and we have been struggling with the huge demand to add a cash value to the Badges so that people can be rewarded for their had work in collecting them.
So we thought, let’s flip it and make ‘cash badges’ and put them into rotation at the TimTech traffic exchanges. Basically we have placed random ‘cash badges’ in rotation and when you find them you get a nice cash reward (whatever the denomination of the badge is) added to your Click Track Profit account.
Here’s what they look like, so keep an eye out for them =)

This is what it means to be in business. You have to adapt. And while yours truly wrote off the ‘cash reward’ for surfing, Jon knows that you HAVE to listen to members and when members want something…Let’s work to try to deliver that.
I’m sure people will be upset at this decision, while others will love it. We are trying it and seeing how it goes. If it’s a success and members enjoy it, heck we may ever raise the amounts of the denominations…But one thing is for sure, we will always listen to your concerns and would love to see your feedback on this new feature.
Let us know what you think, I am looking forward to your comments below!
P.S. And some pretty big news this week ILoveHits and StartXchange celebrated their 10 year anniversary. Both exchanges were registered this week, 10 years ago. Talk about AWESOME SAUCE!

Ahhhh, cash rewards. You have made some surfers very happy.
Congratulations on TWO 10 year anniversaries. Fabulous!
Thanks Cathy! We hope people enjoy it. It may ruffle some feathers, but as long as the surfers are happy…=)
Congrats on 10 years. Nice move with the badges as well.
Thank you Craig, much appreciated sir!
Interesting — I predicted, when I heard that something big was coming with badges, that it would be Timtech rewards points, not cash. Any particular reason you guys went one way and not the other?
As an upgrade CTP member, of course, I love it either way — it means more random referrals for me!
Thomas – Yeah we’ve got plans for that too =)
Hi Jon,
WOW! You have just made surfers very happy I am sure! I am also very sure that there will definitely be some that are not going to be happy about this at! But you know what I say to that…”TOO BAD SO SAD! Get over yourselves!”
LOL
I think this is a great move and I am sure that you will see that this is going to be a HUGE success! Kudos to TimTech!
Congratulations to Start Xchange and ILH for their 10 Anniversary of being online! Now that is truly AWESOME!!
Have a great day and here’s to TimTech’s continued success and we are looking forward to another 10 years of SX and ILH!
Marilyn
Wow…
…Wow…
Wow…
uhm, I did not see this coming at all – but I’m standing here with my arms ready to group hug all of TimTech!
This will open up for an even larger member base, – more people that will be able to start earning online via the CTP system and the TimTech sites.
I’m so excited about this and need to cut it here, i’ve got a blog to update, referrals to email and new splash-pages to Kreate.
This is just imba über cool ^^
Thanks Marilyn – It’s not a job, it’s an adventure LOL
Loke – Nice man, thank you so much for all your support!
Jon,
you have indeed “lost your mind” ….lol. now we can promote CTP to the surfers who don’t care about collecting badges, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want to collect $$$$…..Well done.
Thanks Stephen, yeah hopefully it adds even more fun and gets people into the ‘learning and doing’ side of CTP =)
This is great Jon. When I read the email subject I was kinda wondering what you were up to…sorta hoped you’d say that all the surf 50, 100, 250 etc badges were gonna have some cash-in value. lol
Oh well, now I can collect them as well as cash, this is awesome
Just hope there’s lots to go around for some of us that are not full-time surfers…
I know this is gonna shock you Jon, but I actually think it’s not a bad idea.
I don’t like the TEs that have the “surf 1000 get xx cents” because people are blindly power surfing just to get to that goal.
However, I’m all for anything that gets surfers to view the pages, so this will definitely get eyeballs back on the sites
Great job guys! How about some generous credits/banners/text ads/upgrades badges? This would crash some servers I think.
Personally I’m not particularly motivated by cash prizes, but if others are and it brings more surfers in or keeps them surfing longer then good.
Doug – depending on how successful this is, I think the random badges might show up more =)
Jackie – thank you for your comments. Appreciate the feedback!
George – yessir, we’ve got plans lol =)
Tarawyn – Yeah neither am I, but the surfers seemed to want it. But the big thing I hope this accomplishes is brings more people into our training rooms, systems and gets more results long term.
Jon this is awesome news. I think people will love this and be more likely to join when I tell them I got a cash badge from CTP!
I am happy about it too. I can always use some extra cash!
Thank you
Barb
Thanks Barbara….Hope you enjoy it!
Hi Jon and all at Timtech,
Not sure about this. OK give it a go sure but once again a fact of TE life is that the heavy surfers reap most of the rewards. However, having said that, if the badges are truly random then it does give the average surfer a chance to pick up a little something which will encourage them.
By average surfer I mean the surfer, male or female, who have full time jobs and can only surf for limited periods.
Always been a supporter of the underdog LOL
Les
Les – yessir, it’s completely random. No ‘amount’ needed to surf before it shows up.
Hey Jon,
I do agree that surfing for cash is not good. I agreed with you before when you made the statements. However, I would not perceive this as cash surfing because the bonuses are random and it will help surfers start looking at the pages closer. This is the ultimate goal, right?
Surfing for cash (in my eyes) is when surfers surf 500 to win $1 or win xx cents every so many sites surfed. That is cash surfing. What you are doing with the random badges is not what I would consider cash surfing. I consider it looking at the pages hoping to find a bonus

Thanks Jonathan – Yeah I know some people might look at it as such, I tend to look at it as you do.
Interesting development. When the cash surfing craze was at its peak maybe 18 months ago I was one of its strongest critics. That didn’t do me any good – just alienated a lot of people. You are right – businesses – and markets do evolve and your cash tokens will generate interest and may attract new people in to the market – that’s all good and as long as it remains random, I think, on balance, it is a good thing.
Its all about the psychology of the surfer something I’m only beginning to understand in any detail
Happy Birthday to you, ILH & S/X. It’s nice to see two of my favorite TE’s doing so well.
It’s also fantastic news about the cash badges. Badges already show who takes action–now those actions will have financial rewards as well.
Woohoo!
Karen (klkuty)
Mark – Brother I have been doing this for 13 years and I still need to figure out my own mind LOL Thanks for the comments as always sir.
Karen – Awesome sauce! Thanks very much for the comments!
G’day Jon,
Well I have never been a penny clicker always turned the other way and ran. “I like $’s”
Now TimTech wants me to believe this is a random thing well my travels of peoples CTP profile pages today tells me different. It seems all of a sudden those who did not collect badges much all of a sudden have collected today.
And believe me I see more of peoples profile pages than most.
Time will tell where this goes but I do know that the surf rate at all TimTech sites will increase dramatically.
The penny clickers who are not surfers or interested in your site and are for sure not buyers as they are always chasing the next penny or believing free will make them a few cents will love it the other Penny & Bux sites will hate TimTech.
Congrats on 10 years a great achievement.
Gone to be Crow.
The washing line is looking interesting.
I haven`t been able to attend TELive for ages, so this came as a complete surprise! I never thought you would ever support cash surfing in any form. I`m sure it will boost the activity at your sites, but it is results that matter, and it seems to me that penny surfers generally aren`t good prospects for sales.
However, like you, I am willing to change my mind on this, but I`m just not willing to trade my time for pennies yet! I`ll be watching this experiment with interest.
Hello to all my TELive pals…miss you and hope to be back one day!
Thanks Rob – Appreciate the comments.
Lynne – Come back to TE Live soon =) Thanks very much for the comments.
Hey Jon -
Yes, I think demon seed was the quote… LOL. But seriously, I don’t think this is the same as cash surfing… as Jackie O said “surf 1000 get xx cents” which doesn’t really respect the person who credits are being burned up. This feels ok to me as it rewards the surfer randomly without the carrot of earning a fraction for page surfed.
I think this will go over well and offer a nice little financial bump to your most loyal surfer as they stand to pick up the greatest amount of reward.
Cheers!
James
