Why I Love Traffic Exchanges…
I woke up this morning, without any plans to post to the blog. But as I checked my inbox, I was taken back by an email I got. A few months ago, I saw a feature on this site called ‘My Charity Water’ and how they donated their ‘birthday money’ to help develop wells to provide clean drinking water for the world. I loved it from the moment I saw it and figured, we should do some kind of joint effort in the traffic exchanges to raise money for this cause as well as bring much needed attention to it.
Well the ‘charity’ ended this morning and they are going to take the cash we raised and send it across seas to help develop the wells. Here’s the email i got…
Congratulations! Your campaign raised $1527, which alone can give 76 people clean water for 20 years.
The mycharity: water site tracks every dollar donated on your page to a specific water project. When the water projects you helped fund are completed in 12 – 18 months, we’ll send you and everyone who contributed to your pictures and GPS coordinates. Even though your page can no longer receive donations, you can go back to the site anytime to see your campaign and to eventually see the village you helped.
We’ve seen the amazing impact that water projects have on people’s lives. Your dedication these past three months is deeply appreciated.
Thank you.
Wow!
I mean let that sink in a little bit. The traffic exchange industry has helped 76 people drink clean water for twenty years. TWENTY years! I’m kind of emotional as I write this because it’s pretty powerful in my opinion and it shows what good can happen in this industry.
So THANK YOU to every single person that donated, promoted, shared and tweeted the ‘Traffic Exchanges Care’ campaign and I look forward to starting a new one very soon.
Wow. Because of the people in this industry, 76 people get clean water for two decades. Amazing stuff folks, thank you so so so so much!

AMAZING, JON!
And thanks for bringing such a worthy project to our attentions…
Carl
Thank you sir, you helped this out so much. Much appreciated!
That’s exactly what I thought WOOOOOOOOOOOW twenty years?! That’s 76 people that probably never have to drink from a dirty river again, never have to worry about drinking water thats contaminated and the diseases that come from that.
That truly is amazing, I’m a little bit emotional too. You guys did such a great job of getting the word out there. Advertising the promo material, keeping it posted on here, talking about it on TE Live, and Jared even with the FB page.
This is the perfect way to start the day. Thanks for posting two days in a row!!
And special thanks to you Winter for the wonderful designs.
Yeah I was very happy and I don’t think it has really set in yet.
Huge when you think of it but just a touch of what I think we can do in the future.
You’re most welcome. Was glad to do it since I had no money to donate =/ At least I was able to take part in my own way, so I’m good with that.
It really is huge. It’s so surprising what a little bit of money can do for poorer countries. Here $150 would get you nothing, maybe a big screen TV and an xbox, there it’s saving lives… 76 lives, unreal.
$1500* We need a way to edit our typos in our own comments lol
That is such wonderful news Jon. I didn’t have any money to donate, this time around. I am starting to put some aside, now for when you do another one
Having grown up in Germany after the War, we too had no fresh drinking water for a long time, so I can really relate to that.
Thanks for being a person who cares.
Monika
Wow, twenty years. I am taken aback. That’s wonderful.
Be sure and let us all know as soon as the new campaign starts, I need to go put my banners and page on hold at TPX and will take them back off as soon as the new campaign starts. I’ve just let them run at my exchange ever since Winter made them and it’s frequently been the start page.
Sorry I missed you guys today. This has been a really terrible week offline, I’m trying to get back in the groove tho.
